Early Access: VStancer 0.4.0 (Patreon)

VStancer has been updated to support GTA Enhanced and the latest Legacy patch!

An improvement is that the script now should support vehicles where the model origin isn't aligned properly. This used to result in wheels on one side being misaligned, this should now also be supported. Do mind I've not tested this myself yet and it's somewhat beta.

Apply track width based on model origin

VStancer will stay in Early Access for a month before releasing publicly, if no big issues are found in the meantime.

Thanks for continuing to update your mods. I'm curious: in previous versions, there was a relatively easy way to update vehicle configs for cars, but in V4.0 I'm not seeing a way to stance a vehicle, save it, make changes, and then save an update. Currently, the only solution I have found is to delete the saved vehicle listing and then recreate that profile. I have a feeling this is tied to how you have the option "enter 1 for global model config, enter 2 for plate-specific config". Do you think you'll be able to reintroduce the "update config" function at any point? Seems to work perfectly otherwise, at least as far as I can remember compared to the older versions. A quick note: the large industrial truck DUMP has a really funky track width, that is apparently outside the defined bounds of your tool. When trying to adjust the suspension on this truck, upon first change the wheels will suddenly invert themselves to opposite sides of the vehicle.

Noted about those two points. I think I'll re-do the config stuff, or at least introduce the thing I did for Custom Gear Ratios. I've also been a bit annoyed by how VStancer now works. For the track width I'll have to simply increase that limit.

when I updated it, there weren't any saved presets on my cars. I still have them saved on my computer but I don't know where to put them.

In the VStancer folder in your game folder, like it has been since 0.3.0. If you're on Enhanced, make sure you have DirectStorageFix.

I did that but it doesn't load in game and I couldn't find where to apply it manually.

If these are .XML configs these were indeed obsolete, but this was in 0.3.0 already

Which presets? If they're from before 0.3.0, indeed, but 0.3.0 and later should work fine.

First things first! I LOVE THIS MOD, and finally I was able to use it with the 4.0 beta, as all others didn't work with my current version of Legacy... that being said, there is a game-breaking glitch when you try to change tires from a different config, it makes it where you can no longer drive the vehicle as it is sunken in the ground. It'd be nice to let us choose different rims with any config, rather than the config being tied to the vehicle itself. PLZZZZ HELPPPP, like I'll probably need to uninstall and reinstall and re-enter all my measurements again. Thank you also, when breaking the rear tires bounce up and down very fast randomly. Also, when choosing the radius and some other functions, it doesn't do anything at all.. so i just change the visual size, and it does the job enough just not to specifics

You can, just tap throttle after charging suspension height. Visual suspension has always worked equally for the axles as it uses the data vanilla V suspension mod does.

I adjust the front and rear suspensions separately, only the wheels are adjusted up and down, but not the suspension?

Give it a little throttle to settle the suspension. I plan to have this fixed in a next release.

Having issue where after changing wheels in Menyoo, after opening up VStancer they revert to the wheels that were there before I changed them. 😑

How do you save the preset once you make it in game ?

So I’m having issues saving my configuration. I’ll save the preset for example “S15”, and then a second box will show up, I’ll type “S15” again, and then nothing happens. Doesn’t show in the saved portion of the menu.

Been using this mod for years, but with the latest updates I'm getting a script hook v core exception. Rolling back doesn't seem to fix it. Any ideas?

Do you happen to have an NPC as passenger? That seems to cause a problem, I need to fix that.

I would like to explain a small issue regarding V Stancer. The wheel scaling feature already works well, but there is one thing that I think is still missing. Whenever the wheel size is increased or decreased, both the front and rear wheels are always changed at the same time. For example, if a car originally has 18-inch wheels, I would like to increase only the rear wheels to 20 inches while keeping the front wheels at 18 inches, just like in real life. Many cars actually use different wheel sizes between the front and rear. The problem is that in V Stancer, changing the wheel size automatically affects both the front and rear wheels equally. It would be great if there was an option to adjust the front and rear wheel sizes separately, allowing users to choose different sizes instead of forcing both to be the same

This is a limitation of the mod/system, the modifiable data I identified is just one value for all (tuned) wheels. Trust me, if I knew where else to change something, I'd already try and do so :)

This mod is amazing for improving the car's look, but I'm having one issue with it. Whenever I open a clip in Rockstar Editor, the wheel size that I changed using VStancer resets back to the vehicle's default size. Is this a bug with the mod, or is it just a limitation/issue with GTA V itself?

Unfortunately that's a limitation, scripts don't really run in Rockstar Editor. Additionally any changes that the engine doesn't know about, aren't recorded.
