You guys better appreciate that I actually committed to some Natsuki x Arato scenes! WITH CASH!

...But in all seriousness, I did have it as a possibility, always. But it could JUST happen. I've been very adamant about Natsuki simply not being able to see Arato as either a sexual partner, a dude she could be friends with, an object of her fantasies, or anything of the sort. Just not compatible in some very basic senses.

...Unless there was something pushing her to him that didn't have to do with Arato at all. And for that to happen, Mary needed to be in a position in which she would want to help Arato in his usual endeavors.

Once we reached this point, a door opened to this unlikely pairing.

So yeah... the trick was to make Arato kind of not-important to HOW it happened. Instead, it all hinged on Mary. This is a bit of a gamble, to be honest... I'm not sure how well I'll be able to pull it off. But it won't be too many scenes, same as with Rin/Kaoru and Hanako. After this diversion, we'll finally be heading into the Arato Route finale! The current Natsuki scenes are mostly setup, but next week you'll see more action. It needs to be built up for it to make sense, after all!

Thanks for sticking with the project, by the way. I know some people may be thinking it's about time I wrapped things up... and I do, too. But I don't want to rush it, I don't want to leave too many threads left unexplored. If anything, I promised myself I wouldn't just drop a character or story thread simply because it wasn't too popular, and I would see it through the end. I intend to commit to that.
