Development update - April 2025 (Patreon)

Hi folks!

I wanted to give you an update what I have planned for April, and this time there is quite a lot!

1) Jørgen - Right now I'm working on an update for Jorgen. A trip to the Baltic sea I've had recently seemed to have helped a lot with burnout and refocusing, because I'm already well over halfway through it and there's only one key scene left to write. The update will span most of Day 4, finishing soon before the bus heads back to the guesthouse. As soon as I'm done with it, I'll make it available as a preview update before it's released as v0.47 along with the rest of the content I have planned for this month, which is:

2) Rune - I thought about finishing Rune's day 4 where it ended in the last update, but there are a few more scenes I want to add. Not the size of a whole update, but I think it'll be nice to have them in the VN! They'll be included in the full version of v0.47, coming at the end of this month.

3) Broken Harbours - It was an important piece of writing for me - I chose to use 3rd person narration, stuck mostly with Devon's perspective, so a character much older than Arvo with a much different outlook and experiences, ad decided to go for a subtler style of writing, trying to say more between the lines. It helped me tremendously and I believe my writing has gotten much better since I finished it. I also know that the response was mixed and the story was on a shorter side, and I intend to address its shortcomings.

I put it aside for a while, prioritising the main VN, but now that I finally received voice acting for the nsfw scene, I plan to revisit and re-release the project. There's quite a bit of work to be done - I want to rewrite portions of the beginning, cut up and add the audio, commission Dangpa for another illustration and also add a huge chunk of text in the middle, between the two halves, turning it into a story in three acts. The bulk of work I intend to do thin month but a release date in May seems like a more plausible option.

4) Illustrations  - There's quite a few illustrations we've commissioned or are in the process of commissioning, I wanted to mention them here. Apart from the two by Haku and Deffie, for Bjørn and Devon respectively, done last month, we're waiting for:
- Arvo and Jørgen from the end of day 4, by Haku
- Torulf,  Arvo and Lake in the cinema, by Bakemonoy
- Lake and Arvo from the end of day 4, by Voidhound
and I want to commission the Lake and Arvo's first kiss soon!

5) What's next? - After v0.47, the only two characters with day 4 not closed yet will be Bjørn and Lake. They both need rather big updates and I want to do the rest of Bjørn in one go, the flow of the scenes require that, so I'll see if the next update after this one will be just Bjørn or Bjørn+Lake.

And, after that, day 5 finally!
