Hi folks!

Those of you who support us for some time might remember the new, reworked sprite for Lake we've put in one build and teased in sneak peek posts. I've been sitting on it for a while and wondering what to do with it; personally I have mixed feelings regarding it, especially expressions, while Haku insists on the change. I agree that some degree of reworking could be good, but I wanted to ask you, our patrons: what's your opinion on the new and old Lake?

Personally prefer the current sprite myself

I would like to say that the current Sprite is already really good, already being a fan favorite of multiple. Even when it comes down to the wrinkles in his flannel and shirt, it really kind of shows off his energy and his personality. In a way, I would say if you really wanted to change the current Sprite, you could probably put more definition in his ears, kind of like you did with the Sprite rework design, or even change up some of the shading in his hair. But I feel like the chest fluff and how his hair is positioned in the current Sprite is what really brings the character to life, showing who Lake is. Even being able to see the belt a bit is something small, but it still impacts the character.

Although I love the old design, I feel like the new one fits better with other characters. I do, however, miss the chest tufts

Something in between for me. I love the current design, particularly the chest fluff, the bigger and brighter eyes, how fluffy the hair is, his ears. But for the new design, I love the details and the color of the hair, the shading, the slightly darker fur color, and the pose. The pose on the current sprite looks like we're looking up at him, and the new one looks like we're eye level or he's slightly shorter than us, which is very cute. I love the current one, but I like aspects of the new one. Complicated explanation but I hope I got my point across

I feel like the current one is the best since the extra fluff makes them look cuter and more like that dumb dork we know and love Also the broder arms can be a symbol of their gender dysphoria. I prefer if they keep some masculine design details since it gives their coming out scene a bigger impact and gives credence to their concerns that they aren't "non-binary enough" (like when they look at themselves in the mirror during the shower scene.)

I like the current sprite a lot more. The larger, brighter eyes match their cheerful, sunny personality more. And I think them showing more fur on their arms and chest represents their open personality better than the new sprite.

I think just making slight changes to the current sprite to be what you envisioned would be better than making a brand new sprite. The new sprite just doesn't match Lake's personality at all in my mind. Build off of what makes the current sprite feel like Lake.

Yeah I was thinking they could just add details to some parts and maybe tweak the light angle.

The facial expression on the old sprite are great however the new on for his clothing makes him look more intelligent. I would prefer the older facial sprite combined with the newer clothing sprite.
