CG artist update & illustration for Update 1 (Patreon)

Hi! 

We can finally announce our CG artist - it's Tintiai! Check out his Twitter account here:  https://twitter.com/tintiai 

And together with the announcement we're showing the first illustration intended for Update 1, which was not finished in time for Patreon build, but will be included with the build uploaded to itch.io this Saturday.

Arvo looks great but something about Rune looks off. I need to see Rune’s sprite to tell what looks off.

Yeah, Rune looks really off. His arms are too thick. His antlers don’t look like his sprite at all except for being black. His face is too white. His ears are too flat and white.

I think the Rune Sprite and Rune Teaser on the twitter account looks much more adorable than this Rune CG.

You're right about his antlers and ears, but it's already too late to ask for changes. I don't necessarily agree with him having too thick arms, this picture was based on promo picture hq did in which Rune is similarly athletic: https://twitter.com/DawnChorusVN/status/1285692829847769088/photo/1 It is true that there are some differences, as hq and Tintiai have very different art styles and translating the character between them wasn't easy. All the feedback will be passed to the artist, and if people won't be happy with the illustration we will remove it from the visual novel. This was only the first illustration commissioned, and we will be collaborating on the next ones much closer :)

I am not saying to remove the CG. I just think you might want to have the CG Artist change it to look more like HQ’s Sprite. If artist refuses to change the CG then that is sort of a red flag.

Okay, I understand what you're saying. This is a fault on our side, not the artist's. We had long discussions mostly about the style in which the picture should be done and had several versions of this picture drawn for us and agreed on this one, after already asking for many changes. It would not be okay of us to ask the artist to change it now free of charge, but we might want to commission a remake of Rune's character in this picture in the future. Right now we're on a tight budget with another picture already commissioned.😔

Hey, don't get yourself too down! Ask the artist how much it would be to change Rune's head and I'll increase my Patreon pledge by that amount.

I couldn't imagine it costing more than $30 to change Rune's head.

I've discussed it with the artist, and he agreed to make changes if more people would request it, so we decided to run a patron only poll that should be available in a moment. We kindly thank you for your support ^^
