A man eager to start DNA replacement keeps a journal of his thoughts each day on his way to becoming a facsimile of a gnoll. However, given the newness of the experiment as well as his lack of information about hyenas, several aspects of the process are less than appealing. All he can do is ride it out till the end, hoping the less palatable aspects were not permanent, or at least something he could eventually get used to.
