An Arizona family is passing through Southern Utah on their way back from a weekend wedding in Salt Lake City in June of 2009, when the father suddenly begins acting erratically. Sensing a bout of oncoming psychosis related to her husband’s mental illness, she gives him a rapid dose of medicine - and phones 911. Tragically, her call for help was answered by those wholly unequipped to deal with the situation unfolding alongside Utah’s State Road 59.
