Akashic Might: Daevic and Vizier Archetypes (Patreon)
Content
The following article contains two Spheres of Might Archetypes for the Daevic and Vizier: The Anashmic and Sheikh!
Anashmic (Daevic Archetype)
Proficiencies: Anashmic are proficient with simple weapons and light armor. In addition, if this is this character’s first level in any class, they may select a martial tradition of their choice.
This modifies the daevic’s normal proficiencies.
Anashmic Veilweaving: Anashmic are driven more by their martial prowess rather than by the magic of their veils. They do not gain the ability to shape veils from the Daevic veil list, and do not gain the ability to shape veils at 2nd, 6th, 12th, and 18th level. The only veils they treat as on their veil list with this class are their veils from their Passion, and they still maintain the ability to shape Passion veils at 1st, 4th, 9th, and 15th level.
The anashmic also has a reduced pool of essence, granting them one point of essence at 1st, 6th, 9th, 12th, 14th, and 18th level.
This modifies the daevic’s daevic veilweaving class feature.
Combat Training: An anashmic may combine combat spheres and talents to create powerful martial techniques. Anashmic are considered Adept combatants and use their Charisma as their practitioner modifier.
Impassioned Combat (Su): At 5th level, the anashmic gains a bonus Combat talent and selects a single Combat sphere. This Combat sphere becomes their impassioned sphere. For every 2 points of essence invested in their passion, the anashmic treats their base attack bonus or skill ranks as one higher when determining the effects of their impassioned sphere that determine their effects based on the anashmic’s base attack bonus on skill ranks (but not for attacks made using that sphere, or for skill checks made using that sphere). The anashmic cannot change their impassioned sphere once it has been selected.
This replaces the daevic’s resist influence class feature.
Focused Mind (Su): At 9th level, the anashmic’s passion hardens their focus and resolve, granting them the ability to expend their martial focus as part of making a Will save in addition to Fortitude and Reflex saves, treating their roll for that Will save as if it were a 13.
Improved Impassioned Combat (Su): At 13th level, the anashmic gains a bonus Combat talent. Additionally, they can choose to enhance the effects of their impassioned sphere, or choose a second impassioned sphere.
If they choose to enhance their impassioned sphere, they treat their base attack bonus or skill ranks as one higher when determining the effects of the sphere based on the anashmic’s base attack bonus on skill ranks. This stacks with the bonus granted by investing essence in their passion.
If they choose to gain a second impassioned sphere, they select a second sphere and apply the benefits of their impassioned combat class feature to that sphere as well.
Unparalleled Focus (Su): At 17th level, the anashmic’s passion hardens their focus to such a degree that they can shake off effects that would debilitate others. When expending their martial focus as part of a saving throw, they treat their roll as a 15 instead.
Sheikh (Vizier Archetype)
Proficiencies: Sheikhs are proficient with simple weapons and light armor. In addition, if this is this character’s first level in any class, they may select a martial tradition of their choice.
This modifies the vizier's normal proficiencies.
Veilweaving: The sheikh’s focus on mastering their physical attributes has diminished their veilweaving somewhat. The sheikh only has the ability to shape 1 veil at 1st level, and gains the ability to shape an additional veil each day at 2nd, 5th, 8th, 11th, 14th, 17th and 20th level.
The sheikh also has a reduced pool of essence, granting them only one point of essence at each class level.
This modifies the vizier’s veilweaving class feature.
Combat Training: A sheikh may combine combat spheres and talents to create powerful martial techniques. Sheikh are considered Adept combatants and use their Intelligence as their practitioner modifier.
Eldritch Training (Su): At 1st level, whenever a sheikh uses a weapon produced by a veil with the [enhanced (weapon)] descriptor, they may use their class level in place of their base attack bonus granted by their vizier levels when determining their attack bonus with that weapon, their CMB when using that weapon as part of a maneuver, the effects of their Combat spheres used with that weapon, and the number of attacks they may make as part of a full attack with that weapon. This increase in effective attack bonus can be used to meet the requirements for feats and can be used to determine the effectiveness of feats that having a scaling effect based off of base attack bonus (such as Power Attack), but those feats only affect your weapons created by a veil with the [enhanced (weapon)] descriptor veil until they meet the normal base attack bonus requirements for said feats.
This replaces the vizier’s eldritch insight class feature.
Sidebar: Enhanced Armaments
If your game is using the optional rules granting the vizier the enhanced armaments class feature, the eldritch training class feature should be replaced with the following:
Eldritch Training (Su): At 1st level, the sheikh’s enhanced armaments class feature now applies to combat maneuvers and Combat sphere effects in addition to the abilities normal effects, allowing them to treat their base attack bonus gained from vizier levels as equal to their class level when determining the effects of combat maneuvers and Combat spheres made using weapons produced by a veil with the [enhanced (weapon)] descriptor.
This replaces the vizier’s eldritch insight class feature.
Sheikh Essence Capacity: At 3rd level, and again at 9th and 15th level, the sheikh’s mastery over their mind and body grants them better control over their essence, increasing the essence capacity of their essence receptacles by 1.
This replaces the vizier’s improved essence capacity class feature.
Sheikh’s Knowledge (Su): At 3rd level, the sheikh has mastered the art of tapping into ancient and hidden knowledge stored within their veils, allowing them to call upon ancient skills and talent they do not possess. Once per day as a move action, the sheikh can gain a bonus Combat talent of their choice for 10 minutes. The sheikh must possess the base sphere for any talents they choose to gain using this ability. At 7th level, and every 4 levels thereafter, the sheikh may use this ability an additional time each day and may gain an additional Combat talent as part of using this ability (2 uses per day and 2 talents per use at 7th, 3 uses per day and 3 talents per use at 11th, and so on).
This replaces the vizier’s veilshifting class feature.
