Archetypes

Lord of Magic (Spellweaver Archetype)

These specialists have dedicated their arts towards the magical study and practice of spellweaving in lieu of all else, allowing them to perform incredible feats of akasha and spellcasting at a detriment to their other abilities.

Diminished Attributes: The lord of magic’s base attack bonus gained from spellweaver levels is equal to half their class level, their Reflex saving throw progression is reduced to be equal to their Fortitude saving throw progression, and their Hit Dice from spellweaver levels is reduced to a d6. See Table: Lord of Magic for this updated progression.

This modifies the spellweaver’s hit dice, base attack bonus, and saving throws.

Lord of Magic: The lord of magic gains the ability to shape 2 veils at 1st level, and gains the ability to shape an additional veil each day at 2nd level, 5th level, and every 2 levels thereafter.

This modifies the spellweaver’s veilweaving class feature, and replaces their bonus feats.

Weaver of Rings: The lord of magic gains the ability to shape Ring slot veils. They gain the ability to bind Ring slot veils at 9th level.

Spellweaving: The lord of magic may only have a certain number of veils shattered at a time. At 1st level, they may shatter up to 2 veils at a time to cast spells. This limit increases by an additional 1 at 5th level, 9th level, 13th level, and 17th level. If the lord of magic has reached their limit of shattered veils, they cannot shatter additional veils to cast spells until one of their shattered veils has reformed. Veils shattered through means other than spellweaving don’t count against this limit.

This modifies the spellweaver’s spellweaving ability, but not for the purposes of archetype compatibility. If an archetype would replace the spellweaver’s ability to shatter veils to cast spells with the ability to shatter veils for another ability, the limits of this archetype apply to that ability as well.

Low Chakra Binding: At 2nd level, the lord of magic gains access to a low chakra bind. Each day when they shape their veils, they can choose whether they wish to bind veils to the Feet or Hands slot. At 5th level, they additionally can choose between the Head slot. At 4th level, they gain the ability to choose a second such bind. At 6th level, they gain the ability to bind all three of the above chakra.

This modifies the spellweaver’s low chakra binding class feature.

Middle Chakra Binding: At 8th level, the lord of magic gains access to a middle chakra bind. Each day when they shape their veils, they can choose whether they wish to bind veils to the Wrists, Shoulders. At 11th level, they additionally can choose between the Headband slot. At 10th level, they gain the ability to choose a second such bind. At 12th level, they gain the ability to bind all three of the above chakra.

This modifies the spellweaver’s middle chakra binding class feature.

High Chakra Binding: At 14th level, the lord of magic gains access to a high chakra bind. Each day when they shape their veils, they can choose whether they wish to bind veils to the Neck, or Belt slot. At 16th level, they gain the ability to bind both of the above chakra.

This modifies the spellweaver’s high chakra binding class feature.

Pinnacle Chakra Binding: At 18th level, the lord of magic gains access to a pinnacle chakra bind. Each day when they shape their veils, they can choose whether they wish to bind veils to the Chest, or Body slot. At 20th level, they gain the ability to bind both of the above chakra.

This modifies the spellweaver’s pinnacle chakra binding class feature.

Optional Rule: Variant Lords of Magic

Spellweaver has a number of archetypes that replace their veil list with the list of another class to fulfill its class fantasy as a user of proto-magic, allowing it to be customized to fit the type of character you wish to play. Using this optional rule you can also replace the veil list for a spellweaver with the lord of magic archetype with the list of another class to fulfill your desired class fantasy.

At 1st level, choose whether you wish to use the vizier veil list, or the veil list of another base veilweaving class. You use that classes veilweaving modifier in place of your Intelligence modifier when determining your veilweaving modifier. For example; if you choose to use the Nexus veil list, you would use Charisma as your veilweaving modifier.

Additionally, you lose the weaver of rings ability, and gain one of the following two abilities in its place:

  • If your chosen veilweaving class has the ability to shape veils of an esoteric chakra slot, you gain the ability to shape veils in that chakra slot. You gain the ability to bind esoteric veils of that chakra at the level the chosen class normally gains the ability to do so (12th for Blood, 10th for Interface, 9th for Voice, 9th for Storm). This does not grant you any additional benefits a class may get as part of their ability to bind veils to an esoteric chakra, such as the additional benefits granted to a daevic as part of their ability to bind Blood veils.
  • You gain either an [akashic] feat or a feat that requires the ability to shape veils as a prerequisite as a bonus feat. You must meet the prerequisites for this feat as normal. At 9th level, you gain Twin Veil as a bonus feat. Each time you shape your veils for the day, you may select a different chakra to which you apply the effects of this feat.

If you do not choose the ability to shape veils of an esoteric chakra, you do not gain the ability to do so even if your selected veil list contains those veils.

Enshaden (Spellweaver Archetype)

Your dominion is one of the shadows, the powers of darkness woven into your veils and into your very essence.

Enshaden Veilweaving: An enshaden forms their veils from the powers of darkness itself, allowing them to call upon shadows to obscure their intent in and out of combat. They draw their veils from the eclipse veil list, and know and can shape any veil from that list. The enshaden uses their Intelligence as their veilweaving modifier, and has a veilweaving level equal to their class level. The saving throw DCs of the enshaden’s veils are equal to 10 + the essence invested in the veil + the enshaden’s veilweaving modifier.

The enshaden can only shape a limited number of veils per day. They can shape 2 veils at 1st level, and gain the ability to shape 1 additional veil each day at 5th, 9th, 13th and 17th level.

This modifies the spellweaver’s veilweaving class feature.

Shadowveils (Su): The veils an enshaden shapes using their veil slots granted by this class are partially formed of shadowstuff, allowing them to be more easily manipulated by them compared to those of a normal veilweaver. When the enshaden voluntarily suppresses the effects of one of these veils, they can unsuppress that veil as a free mental action, even outside of their turn. While suppressing a veil in this way the veil cannot be detected using magic or other effects. If the enshaden is rendered unconscious or reduced to 0 or fewer hit points, the effects of these veils are resumed. The enshaden cannot both suppress and unsuppress an individual veil using this ability in the same round.

Additionally, the enshaden can shatter one of these veils as part of their spellweavering (or similar) ability without first unsuppressing it.

Shadowsight (Ex): At 1st level, the enshaden gains darkvision out to a range of 60 feet and low-light vision. If they already have darkvision, the range of their existing darkvision instead.

One With Shadows (Su): At 1st level, the enshaden adds Stealth to their list of class skills.

At 4th level, while in dim light or darkness the enshaden gain concealment (in dim light) or total concealment (in darkness) against creatures that use darkvision to see. If a creature with darkvision has another method of seeing the enshaden (such as blindsight), this concealment does not apply against that special sight.

At 10th level, while in dim light or darkness the enshaden gains a fly speed equal to their base land speed with perfect maneuverability. If they enter an area of bright light while flying, they fall as per feather fall until the beginning of their next turn.

At 16th level, while in dim light or darkness the enshaden become able to pass through creatures and objects, similar to an incorporeal creature. Their movement while in dim light or darkness does not provoke attacks of opportunity, and they can pass through creatures and objects within dim light or darkness without penalty. If an object or creature is only partially within dim light or darkness, the enshaden cannot exit the object or creature’s space into a space of bright light. The enshaden cannot end their movement within a creature or object. If their movement would end within a creature or object, the enshaden is shunted back to the space in which they entered the creature or object and they take 1d6 points of force damage for every 5 feet they were shunted. The enshaden cannot see or hear while they are completely within an object or creature using this ability.

This replaces the spellweaver’s bonus feats gained at 4th, 10th, and 16th level.\

Soulshaper (Spellweaver Archetype)

Your power is one that draws upon the akashic record itself, calling upon the souls stored within and giving them shape to empower you.

Soulshaper Veilweaving: A soulshaper calls upon the souls of ancient heroes and their armaments stored within the akashic record, tying them to themselves to modify their abilities and grant them tools in combat. They draw their veils from the soulforge veil list, and know and can shape any veil from that list. The soulshaper uses their Wisdom as their veilweaving modifier, and has a veilweaving level equal to their class level. The saving throw DCs of the soulshaper’s veils are equal to 10 + the essence invested in the veil + the soulshaper’s veilweaving modifier.

The soulshaper can only shape a limited number of veils per day. They can shape 2 veils at 1st level, and gain the ability to shape 1 additional veil each day at 5th, 9th, 13th and 17th level.

This modifies the spellweaver’s veilweaving class feature.

Forge Souls (Su): When the soulshaper shapes their veils each day, they forge a forged soul available to the soulforge. They treat the chosen soul’s associated veils as on their veil list when shaping the veils for the day, and gain the abilities of the chosen soul. They do not gain any skill ranks with the soul’s associated skills. They treat their soulshaper level as their effective soulforge level when determining the effects of their forged soul.

A multiclass soulshaper instead adds their soulforge level and soulshaper levels together when determining the effects of their forged soul (to a maximum of their character level) and does not gain the ability to shape an additional soul each.

Expanded Forged Souls: When the soulshaper gains this ability, they only gain access to the initial 11 souls available to the soulforge. They can replace these forged souls with expanded forged souls, as normal. If the soulshaper takes levels in soulforge, or vice versa, they do not gain access to additional forged souls.

This replaces the spellweaver’s cantrips and bonus feats class features.

Twin-veiled Soul (Su): At 10th level, the soulshaper chooses a second forged soul when they shape their veils for the day. They do not gain any benefits from this soul, but they treat the chosen soul’s associated veils as on their veil list when shaping their veils for the day.

Lightbringer (Spellweaver Archetype)

Your soul is imbued with essence that glows with a soothing light that aids the wounds of yourselves and your allies and empowers you with veils.

Lightbringer Veilweaving: A lightbringer’s essence is so infused with light that it takes physical form in the shape of veils that grant them power. They draw their veils from the radiant veil list, and know and can shape any veil from that list. The lightbringer uses their Wisdom as their veilweaving modifier, and has a veilweaving level equal to their class level. The saving throw DCs of the lightbringer’s veils are equal to 10 + the essence invested in the veil + the lightbringer’s veilweaving modifier.

The lightbringer can only shape a limited number of veils per day. They can shape 2 veils at 1st level, and gain the ability to shape 1 additional veil each day at 5th, 9th, 13th and 17th level.

This modifies the spellweaver’s veilweaving class feature.

Bringer of Light (Su): The lightbringer can choose to glow with a bright calming light that soothes the wounds of themselves and their allies. This light glows with bright light out to 60 feet, and dim light out to an additional 60 feet beyond that. Allies of the lightbringer (including themself) who begin their turn within this light below their maximum HP gain 1 temporary hit point. These temporary hit points stack with themselves to a maximum of three times the lightbringer’s class level, but the total of the allies’ remaining hit points and their temporary hit points cannot increase beyond the allies’ maximum hit points. If the ally is healed and it would cause their temporary hit points to go beyond this value, the excess is lost. For example; if the lightbringer’s ally currently has 8 hit points and a maximum of 12 hit points they could only gain up to 4 temporary hit points using this ability. If they have 4 temporary hit points and are healed for 3 points of damage in the above scenario, they would lose 3 temporary hit points.

These temporary hit points remain for as long as an ally remains within the light of this ability. If they leave the light, they lose temporary hit points at a rate of 1 per round.

If one of the lightbringer’s allies is reduced to fewer than 0 hit points and gains temporary hit points using this ability, they do not regain consciousness but they are automatically stabilized for as long as they have temporary hit points granted by this ability.

The lightbringer can suppress this light as a standard action, and then unsuppress it at any time as a free action on their turn.

At 7th level, and again at 13th level, the number of temporary hit points allies gain each round while within this light increases by 1, and they may increase the radius of their bright and dim light by an additional 30 feet. They can change the radius of their light as a standard action.

This replaces the spellweaver’s cantrips class feature, and their bonus feats gained at 7th and 13th level.

Spoken Voice (Spellweaver Archetype)

A spoken voice has learned to amplify their voice itself with the power of their akasha, allowing them to speak words of power.

Spoken Voice Veilweaving: A spoken voice’s veils are formed from the power of ancient tales and folklore given shape through their force of personality. They draw their veils from the vizier veil list, and know and can shape any veil from that list. The spoken voice uses their Charisma as their veilweaving modifier, and has a veilweaving level equal to their class level. The saving throw DCs of the spoken voice’s veils are equal to 10 + the essence invested in the veil + the spoken voice’s veilweaving modifier.

The spoken voice can only shape a limited number of veils per day. They can shape 2 veils at 1st level, and gain the ability to shape 1 additional veil each day at 5th, 9th, 13th and 17th level.

This modifies the spellweaver’s veilweaving class feature.

Alluring Voice: The spoken voice adds Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate, and Perform (all) to their list of class skills.

Voice Shaper: The spoken voice gains the ability to shape Voice slot veils, and treats all Voice slot veils as veils on their veil list. Whenever the spoken voice shatters a Voice slot veil using a spellweaver class feature, the powers stored within that veil amplify their ability to sway the opinions of others with their words and amplifies the range of their voice.

When doing so, the spoken voice gains a +2 insight bonus to Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate, and Perform checks, increasing by an additional +1 for each point of essence burned, and when the spoken voice speaks they may choose to reduce the Perception DC to hear them by up to -2 per point of essence burned.

This replaces the spellweaver’s cantrips class feature.

Voice Binder: At 10th level, the spoken voice gains the ability to bind veils shaped in the Voice slot.

This replaces the spellweaver’s bonus feat gained at 10th level.

Interfacer (Spellweaver Archetype)

These anachronistic veilweavers combine veils of the future with concepts of the past, forming a single unique whole.

Interfacer Veilweaving: An interfacer has learned to shape veils in a way that emulates the technology of the future. They draw their veils from the helmsman veil list, and know and can shape any veil from that list. The interfacer uses their Intelligence as their veilweaving modifier, and has a veilweaving level equal to their class level. The saving throw DCs of the interfacer’s veils are equal to 10 + the essence invested in the veil + the interfacer’s veilweaving modifier.

The interfacer can only shape a limited number of veils per day. They can shape 2 veils at 1st level, and gain the ability to shape 1 additional veil each day at 5th, 9th, 13th and 17th level.

This modifies the spellweaver’s veilweaving class feature.

Interface Shaper: The interfacer gains the ability to shape Interface slot veils. Whenever the interfacer shatters an Interface slot veil using a spellweaver class feature, rather than gaining a unique effect they instead choose to gain the effects as if they shattered a veil shaped in a different slot of their choice. At 10th level, they choose two effects to gain. At 20th level, they choose three.

This replaces the spellweaver’s cantrips class feature.

Interface Binder: At 10th level, the interfacer gains the ability to bind veils shaped in the Interface slot.

This replaces the spellweaver’s bonus feat gained at 10th level.

Stormcaster (Spellweaver Archetype)

For a stormcaster the power of magic itself is a storm which they can use to call upon their enemies, harnessing the power of nature itself in a devastating display.

Stormcaster Veilweaving: A stormcaster draws the powers of their veilweaving from the chaotic and destructive powers of nature’s most intense storms. They draw their veils from the stormbound veil list, and know and can shape any veil from that list. The stormcaster uses their Wisdom as their veilweaving modifier, and has a veilweaving level equal to their class level. The saving throw DCs of the stormcaster’s veils are equal to 10 + the essence invested in the veil + the stormcaster’s veilweaving modifier.

The stormcaster can only shape a limited number of veils per day. They can shape 2 veils at 1st level, and gain the ability to shape 1 additional veil each day at 5th, 9th, 13th and 17th level.

This modifies the spellweaver’s veilweaving class feature.

Weatherproofing (Su): The stormcaster’s ability to call upon and control storms has granted them a measure of immunity to their effects, an immunity which they can also bestow to their allies. The stormcaster gains the effects endure elements as a constant effect. If the stormcaster would be subject to a saving throw from a Storm veil they have shaped, they are treated as automatically passing that saving throw if they wish to. If they are subjected to an attack roll from a Storm veil they have shaped, that attack automatically misses if they wish it to. If they would take damage from a Storm veil they have shaped, they may choose to reduce the damage dealt to them to 0. If one of their Storm veils imposes other penalties that do not require a saving throw (such as a reduction in vision range, making its area difficult terrain, or filling the area with high winds) this ability does not protect against those penalties.

The stormcaster can also bestow the benefits of this ability to their allies as a free action on their turn. They choose a number of creatures equal to 1/2 their class level plus their Veilweaving modifier to grant the effects of this ability. The resistance to Storm veils granted by this ability only applies to Storm veils the stormcaster has shaped, and this immunity persists until the stormcaster uses this ability again, or loses consciousness.

Storm Shaper: The stormcaster gains the ability to shape Storm slot veils. Whenever the stormcaster shatters a Storm slot veil using a spellweaver class feature, the magics of the veil are unleashed into a storm of raw energy. At the beginning of each of the stormcaster’s turns while the veil is shattered, creatures within range of them take 1d3 points of force damage, plus an additional 1d3 force damage per point of essence burned. The range of this ability is equal to the normal range of their Storm veils (excluding any abilities that allow them to increase or alter their range). A successful Reflex saving throw negates this damage (DC equal to the saving throw DC of the shattered veil, including essence invested when it was shattered and other benefits to its DC). The stormcaster can choose to reduce the number of dice of damage rolled each turn before the damage is rolled (to a minimum of 0), and the damage dealt by this effect counts as damage dealt by a Storm veil for the purposes of the stormcaster’s weatherproofing ability. If the stormcaster shatters two Storm veils, only the effect with the higher number of essence burned as part of its shattering applies each round.

This replaces the spellweaver’s cantrips class feature.

Shattered Stormflux (Su): At 4th level, when one of the stormcaster’s Storm veils stops being suppressed after being shattered, they can choose to unshape that Storm veil and shape a new Storm veil in its place. If that Storm veil was bound to their Storm chakra, they can bind the newly shaped veil as part of shaping it.

This replaces the spellweaver’s bonus feat gained at 4th level.

Storm Binder: At 10th level, the stormcaller gains the ability to bind veils shaped in the Storm slot.

This replaces the spellweaver’s bonus feat gained at 10th level.

The spoken voice archetype should have fisherking not vizier veils, yes? Since all the voice veils are fisherking.

Studio M—

There is no fisherking veil list RAW, Fisherking uses the Vizier veil list + voice veils.
