Content

Hey there patrons!

I originally planned to release a book containing four new races for PF1e this month, but I have decided to split it into two smaller releases containing two races each, as well as all the content supporting them.

This is partly to help alleviate burnout, and partly to release some more affordable content since we have sort of had a string of releases on the more expensive side these last few months, and the combined book was heading towards the 50+ page range.

I am hoping to get the first of these two releases out later this week, but absolute worst case it will be out by the 27th. Still not 100% sure which of those two books I am releasing this month (either El'in and Mosslings or Araenae and Living Veils), so it will likely be a surprise for you folks when it comes out!

As far as future plans go, let's talk about the OGL stuff going on.

To say the least, it is pretty bad. Hard to say how bad it will end up being, but that is entirely in WotC's hands right now. Paizo and co's license doesn't really cover PF1e content, so we are waiting and seeing here right now when it comes to future PF1e releases. I wanted to wait until the new OGL actually released to write this update, but it seems like WotC is going to keep delaying it and hoping people forget about it.

I plan to keep releasing content for OGL 1.0a and PF1e until I am forced to stop though, even if WotC does release a new license.

If I am forced to stop writing for OGL 1.0a I will likely try my hand at writing something else, maybe some content for Starfinder or PF2e. Maybe see about writing a definitive Akasha-adjacent port for them? There is always the chance that Corefinder ends up being a system I like, or maybe even the Spheres-RPG DDS is cooking up is something I want to write for. Both are quite a ways off though. Worst case, we gauge the communities interest in various TTRPGs to give a shot at writing a bit for!

Anyways, hopefully 2023 will be as great for Studio M— as 2022 was despite all this!
