Okay babes… I did NOT have this on my 2026 bingo card 😳The official trailer for GL series “Candy” just dropped and honestly?? It looks not half bad at all.

What really surprised me is the fact that this is a Chinese GL drama — which feels pretty unexpected given the landscape — and yet here we are. The vibes, the production, the chemistry… it actually looks promising and way more intentional than I was anticipating. 👀✨

In this reaction, I break down the trailer, talk through my first impressions, and share why this caught me so off guard in the best way. Whether this is a one-off or a sign of more GL coming out of China, it’s definitely interesting to see the genre expanding. 🍬💖

i watched the first ep and i liked it! Also to answer your question its being distributed through Singapore to avoid the censorship!

The trailer looked interesting and I think there are 2 pairs and someone may be an ex of someone in the other pair. I am honestly shocked too to see them actually touch lips, like since when did they allow that??? But finally an actual chinese GL where I don't need the subtitles and I can focus completely on the chemistry and the drama, the only other chinese "GL" I saw is Couple of Mirrors. The two female leads don't kiss at all but they lowkey had a child together (one of the female leads got pregnant from her scumbag ex and her girlfriend basically said screw the sperm donor I will help you raise this kid, I am the father now).

So I looked it up earlier, and this is actually a Singaporean show, and Singapore tends to not be as strict as China when it comes to gays
