Okay… let’s talk about “Skin” by Rebecca Armstrong.

This is my honest, unfiltered reaction to the song, her voice, and the visuals — and I have THOUGHTS.

The voice?? Smooth, soft, and honestly really suits the vibe of the track. The song itself?? Atmospheric, a little moody, very easy to get pulled into. The visuals?? Yeah… those were doing a LOT 😭

There’s a certain tone she brings that feels intimate and controlled, and it works really well with the overall aesthetic they were going for.

That said… I’m breaking down what worked for me, what surprised me, and what I’m still thinking about after watching.

Let’s talk:💬 What did you think of “Skin”??💬 How did you feel about her vocals??💬 Visuals… too much or just right?? 👀

I need opinions.

I liked the song but found the vid lacked something. It didn't really seem to connect with the lyrics I think. And yes Becky looked hot. I've never really been a fullon Becky fan cuz of the roles she played (pls don't kill me) but in this MV she is being herself. Sorry, it's hard to find the exact words.

Haha I also feel like the video was really beautiful but yeah maybe the storyline was a little disjointed from the actual lyrics. Haha I also get not really connecting with her roles, I feel like Mon while sweet was so young maybe because Becky was lol! I love Alin, but I also get that TLP may have not been everyone's taste.

Aw music is also my first love :) I was thinking the same thing, I wished it wasnt in her head voice so much. She has a very airy or breathy head voice, thats the best way i can describe it. Which is fine in small doses i think, just didnt really like it through the whole song. But the lyrics are great, i really liked the rhythm that came in over the guitar. I absolutely love her cover of Taylor Swift Daylight and Billie Eilish Wildflower. Theyre so good and they fit her voice well. But overall I liked this song and the video.

yes overall it was super nice, I just wish someone would help her develop her range a bit more so she could sing more in her mix without having to just switch from chest to head which one sound a bit odd and two a song with too much head voice to me starts to wear on me. Still loved it especially for a first demo, was also kind of sad to find out she didn't write it.

I liked it but I didn’t fully connect to it. I think for me watching her opposite the guy was a distraction because it was jarring in a short MV format, I’m sure I’ll get used to it, the more I watch of her in more roles, it just threw me in this one (I’m used to seeing her opposite Freen or even another woman, and I agree with the lack of chemistry). I have definitely heard her sing much better in her lives and opposite Freen, when she sang with a fuller range, and using a trilling falsetto sound as well that sounded much better, so maybe my expectations were just too high coming into listening to this MV, I know she has the potential, but it is just the first song, and she is still so young and early in getting her various projects off the ground in her own name rather than via Idol Factory. I really liked the short interview in ELLE Singapore, that dropped yesterday on YT, where she talks about the song and the upcoming EP: https://youtu.be/aGHrrWPXAKU?si=0v1apkzd_uPvu_-q

Ahhh I will have to watch that, yeah honestly I am glad someone else felt that way because I was truthfully just a little bit bummed out. She has so so much potential she just needs more time to grow and develop as an artist. Wish she would try songwriting as well would love to hear her perspective,.

Holy shit the first part of the song really tripped me out cuz it sounded like a Shawn Mendes song lol

GlSpiral

YES!! It sounded so much like three different songs to me lol!
