Going into Episode 8, I couldn't stop thinking...

"How on earth are they going to end this?!"

After everything that's happened, I was genuinely panicking that the finale wasn't going to give us the ending I was hoping for.

Every scene had me on edge.

Every conversation felt important.

And I was bracing myself for emotional damage at any second.

We need to talk about:šŸŽ¢ my nonstop panic throughout Episode 8šŸ˜± the moments that had me holding my breathšŸ’– the scenes that gave me a little hopešŸ˜­ everything that made me nervous for the finalešŸ¤Æ my predictions before the final episode

This show has done such a good job of keeping me guessing.

Just when I think I know where it's going...

it throws another curveball.

By the end of this episode, all I could think was...

"Please... don't break my heart."

Now all that's left is the finale, and I honestly don't know if I'm emotionally prepared.

We wanted you to watch it so you understood the emotional rollercoaster (pun intended) those of us who watched as it aired felt. ESPECIALLY with the finale as depressing and confusing it was (still such a beautiful episode though). I found your constant ranting throughout the episode both kinda annoying (sorry) and quite funny because I totally get it. As for the breakup scene, the story behind it goes much deeper. Shelly and Pundao were technically already together throughout the filming of the series. In this episode in particular they were both really conflicted on where they both stood within the relationship. They ended up having a genuine heart to heart about their true feelings for each other to kinda build the emotions for the scene. So if you go back and take your emotions out of it and just watch them in the scene, the part where Loft tells Pure that she loves her so much and then Pure breakdown thatā€™s actually Shelly telling Pundao she loves her so much and Pundaoā€™s reaction to it.

Yeah, I think everyone was extra disappointed with the ending because of the way Pluto was kinda rushed too. The second book explains what LoftPure's time apart and getting back together in more detail (obviously). We would've loved to see that more than the love square angst but it is what it is. Still holding out hope that Neko can continue to play Air in Ferris Wheel like the company originally planned. I won't hold them to it though lol.

I loved the series and glad they kind of ended up happy together but really hated the last episode. It was so frustrating and pointless. The whole thing was self-sabotage - they talk about it being the love of their life and how they struggled to find someone as perfect and who brings them so much happiness and then they break themselves up, and then give us a confusing 30 seconds at the end where some kind of unexplained time skip has happened and they are magically together again. Aaggghhh!!! It felt so rushed and messy. It just feels like whoever was responsible for the first 7 episodes went on holiday and left someone inexperienced to finish the show and they did a terrible job of it, itā€™s up there with the worst GL endings of any series, messing up an otherwise amazing show. I felt exactly how you felt throughout the episode and was thinking to myself exactly the same comments throughout.

Grumble, grumble, grumble, I mirror Millieā€™s comments that if I had explained why I thought it was a bad / disappointing episode, it would have ruined your experience of it - I get their attempt at making it artistic and maybe they were trying to follow the bookā€™s script (I havenā€™t read it, so I donā€™t know) but if they were, as you noted, either they should have made the series longer to give them time to tell it properly, or just cut the bad ending and given them a whole episode to tell a well wrapped-up, satisfying ending. I just wish theyā€™d used better judgement in how they chose to end the series. šŸ˜¤šŸ˜­

I think you will still enjoy (sorry, excuse the pun) Denied Love as a show - itā€™s fun and fairly spicy. I was never deeply involved with JuneEnjoy / EnjoyJuneā€™s ship, so I only saw the odd clip of them. I was pretty devastated by FreenBecky the first time round, and my God, have Englot taken me through the Ringer with their ups and downs (they Iā€™ve been clinging for dear life too since about August 2022), but like you, Iā€™m somewhat prepared for the worst with them, since we havenā€™t really had truly sweet, clingy behaviour from them in a loooong time, so if we do get anything more I expect it will be far off (with Engfaā€™s longer contract and Charlotteā€™s expiring one), and anything more is a bonus, and I feel Engfaā€™s desire for privacy has rubbed off on Charlotte. For me itā€™s more likely to be the ones that I am more convinced are in a real relationship and Iā€™ve followed for a long time or been more obsessive over for some brief period where Iā€™ve watch everything thatā€™s out to try and form an opinion, like GinnyJayna, FayMay, AtomMer, OrmFolk, the ones that do practically everything together and arenā€™t shy about admitting that the other person is part of their normal everyday life (driving around together, eating together, going out together and doing activities and trips together, sleeping together, introducing each other to their respective parents and friend groups, talking about their future together, being there for each otherā€™s work events when they donā€™t need to be there, as well any celebrations because they are an important part of each otherā€™s lives). You get the idea. Like AppleMim, they do more self-service than fan service. Those are the ones I will be more surprised about, because they seem to be more than just work partners and in many cases have stuck together for years when they havenā€™t had any ā€˜coupleā€™ work because they donā€™t want to be with anyone else. My latest obsession (in a nice way) is KapookCiize because they seem to be edging in that direction but time will tell.

The ending was too rushed I feel that yes they should have had some time apart to workout there feelings individually. Then reunited healing together as a couple. The time skip was far to long and the ending was confusing and not very satisfying. Apart from this episode overall a well written and well acted series. Looking forward to their up and coming new series, will miss Neko though.

Neko is very much still planning on continuing acting but for right now is more focused on being a tattoo artist and is even doing a fanmeet in Brazil that is also tattoo related. I think the company might have plans to pair her with NeNe in Motion Minds who is currently in university in England. I also wouldnā€™t be mad/donā€™t get why Mook who played Airā€™s best friend and is Nekoā€™s best friend IRL isnā€™t signed to them. Then again Nina who plays Loftā€™s assistant just officially signed with MME the past few months. As for Ari (Nekoā€™s totally not girlfriend, girlfriend šŸ¤£) I donā€™t think she wants to get into acting.

Ultimately I'm just glad they ended up together lol. I feel like I'm in the minority that actually liked the breakup scene, maybe it's because of the behind-the-scenes story that goes along with it. But anyways, I think most people say the EnjoyJune news coming because of the lack of acting jobs, didn't even get a new series announced and that's literally what their livelihood is. So, I'm not upset but I am disappointed because they most likely won't act together again but I'd still enjoy denied love.

Hey okay I am glad to know there are people still excited for Denied Love so I will definitely be watching it. I agree that the breakup scene was nice, I was just too pissed that they were breaking up to really pay attention. I watched it back though and it was truly well written.

I agree they just needed another episode to really process the ending of their relationship and the time skip this way was just way too rushed. I did love the series though.

YES TO YOUR THOUGHTS!! I think with Englot and Freenbecky they both value privacy so much now we rarely get sweet moments anymore so that coupled with their situations I feel like I am prepared. Omg love your KapookCiize respectful obsession lol! I have another friend who is exactly the same.

Yes that does make sense of why you would refrain from saying why it was bad or not bad but just a let down. I think they just needed more time flush things out. I have watched so many series now and we will see how LBD and Heartcode ends but most of the time to me 8 episodes is just simply not enough to wrap up plots in a satisfying way.

I am so so so so sorry I annoyed you at all. I was honestly just so frustrated because this is one of the best series I have seen but to me the last episode just tainted it so much. It still is beautifully done episode and story though. WOW well I watched it again with you context and it definitely comes across better knowing that, but still I feel like we just needed more time with them to process the breakup and their time in between as well as reuniting.

This show is proof that you can criticize a show and it can still be one of your absolute favorite shows.

The girlfriend not girlfriend is a running joke because sheā€™s never flat out said it but they both make it obvious. For a while I was confused on whether she was with Ari or Mook because theyā€™re basically inseparable. If you ever want Neko related content to react to I highly recommend her series she had called ā€œNAERUN Wanna Beā€¦ā€ on her YouTube channel and you can even follow her journey of becoming a certified tattoo artist.

I loved Chuck (although I STILL havenā€™t seen the last season - I think at the time I couldnā€™t access it and then when it became available later I was just too busy / distracted, so itā€™s still on my very long to-do-list of series to finish but Iā€™ve probably watched the other seasons and certain episodes 2 or 3 times). Yeah, I loved Chuckā€™s dorkyness and his and Sarahā€™s heartfelt relationship, his best friend and caring but interfering sister and Captain Awesome of course, not to forget the grumpy 80ā€™s loving Casey - apart from Chuck and Sarah, my favourite character. Plus all the guest stars (Kristin Kreuk šŸ« ). It was such a fun show.

This series was tough cause i just wanted everyone to be happy :( They all deserve but sadly life doesnt always work out that way. I was told there is a novel that follows this about the rest of Air's story. I wish they would make it! Bruh i cussed so much during this final episode lol. Did they make this without the thai gl formula? HAHA valid! Yea the ending just felt very vague and unsatisfying for me. I mean im glad they ended up together but it jumped around a bit at the end and i was a little confused as well. But otherwise it was an amazing series

My take on the ending is that after Air wrote she wanted Pure to be happy, Pure and Loft reconnected. The final scenes are sometime after they got back together.
