Saffron and Sage, page 104 pre-script brainstorm (Patreon)
Content
A little bonus update, showing how the script-writing process usually starts, by writing a bunch of shit in a notebook. This is a good way to start getting ideas out of your head and into some kind of solid form that can be shaped. This is a pre-first draft, and can be changed, reworked, or flat-out ejected. I'm not sure if the leaves stuff is set up properly (page 103 says the potion "defoliates" body hair instead of "depilates" it). A lot of these ideas are mutually exclusive, too. There can't be a bunch of panels of Saffron making silly faces AND the whole page be a transformation sequence, for instance, and perhaps I'm getting too hung up on the leaves here (how many motifs is Milk supposed to have? I suppose it fits the Nymph thing), and I'm torn between "Saffron should really be more suspicious here" and not wanting to have a whole page of Try it!/No/Try it/No, but these decisions are to be made when I turn this garbage into a coherent page script, which I will do after letting if ferment for a bit while I get breakfast and maybe play a vidya game. Then I'll go for a walk, get some dinner, and give the page another pass tonight before sending it off to Carlos. Taking little breaks between drafts is important because it lets you see the writing from a bit of distance, though I can't take too long of a break since there's deadlines to meet.
And when that deadline comes, we can all see whether the page even vaguely resembles these notes. It's entirely possible that literally nothing on this page ends up in the finished product! 99% of writing is throwing things out!
