Legend of the Hare, Page 25 (Patreon)

Jill is making some pretty solid points here, but Riley alludes to some previous offer Jill apparently got them to turn down. I never figured out the backstory of "that video game". It doesn't matter. What matters here is that, though Jill is being reasonable in this instance, there's a bit of a pattern of her rejecting opportunities, such as being a magical girl to fight people you don't know on the side of people your don't know for reasons you don't understand.
I guess Jill's pretty reasonable about refusing that one, too, but the point I was trying to make is that Jill's life sucks and she avoids opportunities to improve it because they're risky. There's some sort of "theme" forming here about Jill needing to get out of her rut. It never properly resolves, though, as the "Jill likes Riley even though he sucks" subplot became the driving throughline of Legend of the Hare.
Man, Amaya's spear kind of sucks, doesn't it? I came up with the design of Jill's sword, which we'll see later, and still think it's a great design, but Amaya's crescent spear is so bland. It doesn't say "Lightning" or "Dragon" or "Final Fantasy Dragoon", it's just a giant borked spork. No wonder she loses.
At least past me has Riley drop his ultimatum on the same panel Amaya gets WHACKed. Some early attempts at "parallels" and using the medium. It's not as clever as the mirrored pages 90 and 91 of Saffron and Sage, but some effort is being made here.
