Too Late at the Library (Patreon)
Content
It was late on a Friday night when I found myself alone studying in our college library. He caught my eye the moment he rushed in.
He looked relieved for a split second… until he saw me. Our eyes met briefly before he hurried toward the back of the library, to the old theology and occult section.
I returned to my notes, but his breathing soon grew labored. Books were pulled from shelves and flipped through frantically. Then came a sound he was clearly trying to suppress - a mix of groaning… and crying.
I’m not usually one to insert myself into other people’s problems. I hesitated, debating whether to check on him.
Then he screamed.
I rushed toward the sound. Shelves rattled. Fabric tore. I could hear panicked breathing… and something like grunting.
When I turned the corner, I couldn’t comprehend what I was seeing.
Was he wearing some kind of costume? Was this a prank?
His cries deepened into guttural growls. I stood frozen, the full weight of what I was witnessing paralyzing me...
...until it was too late.
