Hello hello,

I wanted to talk a little about a topic I have been thinking about recently. My voice is a little tight in the beginning because it is a little late but it resolves once it warms up a bit.

Hope you have a lovely night.

I kinda like the "Best Friend/Friend's Ex-Girlfriend" trope

As for the emotions part, I don't personally bury them down on purpose if it's not anger. It's more, like, the social battery thing. I feel and show everything but... After a few hours, it just stops. I get exhausted and I can't show any emotions, like it's physically impossible.

I tend to bury my emotions a lot. I’ve had people abandon me socially and just disconnect from interacting with me, no explanation provided. This happened early on in high school; so over time, I started to believe it was something I did or something I said, and that took a massive toll on me. Essentially, for six years, I isolated myself because I didn’t want to become friends with people just to mess it all up because I believed it was my fault that it happened before. I never like to tell someone about my problems or ask for help because I’m afraid of driving people away. I want to show my emotions more, but I feel like I can’t; and it’s not because I’m a man, but because of a fear of messing up once and people I care about leaving me behind. Sorry for the rant/confessional lol, I just got a bit lost in thought as I was trying to answer the question.

Thank you for sharing! Don't worry about apologizing :) I did ask about your personal experience! Thank you for sharing! I feel that about getting abandoned by friends, I'm sorry that happened. I do hope you find a comfortable way to bring your emotions closer to the surface if that's what you want. 🫂

Very interesting, you just get burnt out on showing, it's still there but not apparent. Thank you for sharing 😊

I understand you keeping your personal life guarded on a platform like this, but it was kind of nice hearing a bit of vulnerable Dungarees. And the I cry at highs and lows? Totally understand. I also had a tumultuous 2021 and found myself playing it pretty pokerfaced, except to a few really good friends, some who had been through similar situations. It’s so much easier to let out the rollercoaster of emotions with someone who you can trust to ride that ride with you, rather than look on from the outside.

Thank you Ange, I try to let a little put sometimes! I'm sorry you also had a challenging 2021, but I am glad you were able to get closer to some of your friends. It's funny how you can understand them so much more after, at least from my experience.

Awww this was a really sweet ramble ☺️ I can definitely relate on the burying and hiding emotions, and had been doing so for a long time, but I've slowly started to realise that emotions aren't permanent states - they come and go, you feel them and let them pass like moments. And trying to bury or hide them just caused me to hold onto them longer and keep them inside... which wasn't helping. So I think it's a good thing that you feel more comfortable in acknowledging your emotions, showing them, and allowing them to pass. I'm so glad you've been able to experience that self-reflection and growth and come out stronger and more understanding of yourself 👏🏽🙌🏽🥳 And definitely the best friends to lovers trope! 😄 P.S. I'm addicted to crack 🤌🏼🤤
