PES 2021 has a "cloth simulation" option in its settings. It does nothing. The engine still has the code for it, but it never runs, so I built my own.

This mod turns shirts and shorts into actual cloth, simulated on your graphics card every frame. That covers every player on the pitch, the referee and both linesmen. Shirts fold and swing as players turn. Tucked-in shirts stay tucked. Shorts move with every stride and bounce when a player lands from a header. I also added wind, and when the wind picks up, you see it in the kits.

It works wherever the players are: matches, replays, menus. Slow-motion replays slow the cloth down with them, and pausing freezes it mid-motion.

It also works in Football Life 2026.

Press F5 during a match to switch it off and on. That's the quickest way to see what it does. Going back to the stiff kits is harder than you'd think.

What's in it

Loose, tucked-in and tight kits, short and long sleeves

Every player, the referee and the linesmen

A short settings file you can edit while you play: baggier shirts, tighter shorts, more or less wind, fewer simulated players for slower PCs

Around 2–4 ms of GPU time in a full match. Players far from the camera keep the normal kit.

Just one file and one folder in your game directory. No ReShade, no installer. Works alongside sider and your other mods.

Early access means early access

This is version 0.9.7. It's stable, but it isn't finished:

Feedback

Found a bug? Tell me where it happened and send the log file (cloth-mod\logs\cloth.log). A short clip helps even more. Your reports decide what gets fixed before 1.0.

About antivirus warnings

One scanner on VirusTotal flags the mod. It's a false alarm: the mod hooks into the game's graphics the same way ReShade and sider do, and some scanners don't like that. It downloads nothing and only writes inside its own folder. I figured it's best to be transparent about this.
