Grapara! Chapter 129 animated WIP (Patreon)

I came across Grapara! a while back. I really liked the characters' dynamic, and the whole concept of an idol who can't bring herself to say no and ends up in increasingly compromising situations was incredibly exciting to me. There had already been quite a few attempts to make Sakura cheat on Shinobu (more or less against her own will), but I wanted to believe it would never actually go that far.

Then I suddenly started seeing people everywhere talking about Chapter 129, so I went back to read it... and wow. The author really went all the way.

My heart has been racing every time I think about it since then, and I almost have a hard time rereading that chapter. It's exactly the kind of betrayal that I find both incredibly cruel and utterly fascinating at the same time. Experiencing that kind of emotional shock reminds me that, in a well-written story, anything can happen, and that we're not supposed to be protected by predictable storytelling conventions. I really admire the author for having the courage to do that.

I have a feeling Chapter 131 is going to be even worse... and I can't wait to see it, even though I'm honestly terrified.I'm still trying to find something that will appeal to a wider audience. Grapara! has been getting quite a bit of attention lately, so I'm hoping it'll attract some people. I'd really love to work on that adaptation, but if nobody's interested, I'll just move on to something else.

Either way, if you haven't read Grapara! yet, I definitely recommend giving it a try. The artwork isn't the greatest, but the situations are incredibly intense and genuinely exciting, so it's absolutely worth checking out in the end.

A little bit of context: Sakura is an idol, and Shinobu is both her very first fan and her producer. Over time, their relationship grew into something much deeper, and they genuinely fell in love.

But then Shinobu ended up being kissed by another girl, leaving Sakura feeling completely betrayed. And when you're emotionally devastated, what's worse than running into the ultimate handsome guy who's determined to comfort you? She didn't manage to resist for very long...

Meanwhile, Shinobu is turning heaven and earth upside down trying to find Sakura after she suddenly disappeared. But by then, it's already too late. There's no going back anymore.
