Hey all! Another round of Year-End List Season™️ is here, and this time it's a completely new format!

For a while now, I've wondered how I can incorporate more albums into something like my annual Top 10 Albums video. I have to leave a lot of albums on the cutting room floor, so here's my attempt at covering more ground and offering more opportunities for Discourse™️.

Btw - and I say this in the video too - this does not replace the Top 10 Albums video! That one is up next for main channel videos.

I hope you enjoy this one! It's out now on here and Nebula, and you'll see it tomorrow on YT. I'll also be adding captions across all platforms once they're ready.

Maybe it’s just because I personally loved Perverts, but I kinda wish “Not For Me” was split into two tiers, one for “It was really well-done for what it was but it wasn’t going to be for me” and one for more actual negative feelings

As Kpop stan, I think that Lisa, Jennie, and KDH are all in the correct tier. My favs on the Lisa album were Born Again, Moonlit Floor, and Dream. My favs on the Jennie album were Love Hangover, Handlebars, and Mantra. My favs on the KDH album were How It's Done, Golden, and What It Sounds Like.

Wow, I had a not very online year and apparently that makes it impossible to guess which smaller albums entered the discourse™. Based on the amount of excitement from my immeriate peers I would have expected both Self Titled by Kae Tempest and Straight Line Was A Lie by The Beths to make your list. Especially Kae Tempest. People were so over the moon for them, I was under the impression they were like a huge deal?

Oh you do spoil us so, sir Snareington ☺️ alas, between finishing grad school and working full time, I haven't had a chance to check out the vast majority of these albums but I now have a new goal for 2026! Very interesting what you say about Laufey kind of pigeonholing herself in the midcentury pop sound. One of my best friends really loves her music so I'm going to be extra interested to see what she thinks of whatever Laufey does next since I could see my friend falling off that wagon too. Also hell yeah twenty one pilots!! I was a huge fan during Blurryface/Trench eras but fell off after that (I blame twitter tbh). A lot of my tumblr mutuals are really loving the new album though so that's totally shooting to the top of my list. Hope you're having a wonderful end of the year as always! 😊

I definitely like the new format, though like others are saying I think more tiers would probably help. Splitting "Not for me" into "i respect it more than i like it" and "i actively dislike it" (names subject to change) would definitely help a lot; ethel cain sharing a row with morgan wallen just feels wrong. another row between "it's fine" and "some excellent songs" also feels helpful, though idk what it'd be called or anything.
