Ah yes, I remember when it truly was everyday bro...

My next main-channel video is all about the late-2010s era of YouTuber diss tracks. All the songs from this time were bad then, and they're still bad now! But talking about them was a lot of fun.

Also, in a slight change-up from past videos, this version of the video is uncensored. (The version that goes out on YT will be censored.) I figured it could be a cool small bonus to have the raw version on here and Nebula. If you feel strongly either way about future uploads being uncensored, let me know.

As always, this is out now on here and on Nebula, and it'll be out on YT tomorrow. Enjoy!!

Between Jake Shimabukuro and Flobots' Logan Paul diss track and a number of other examples, I feel like we share a lot of internet core memories and I really appreciate that lmao

This one is just depressing for obvious reasons

Rudi

Woof that was kind of a bummer until the end there, kind of a reflection of a pretty bad era for the internet as a whole. Video was pretty good, I think some of the edits around the slurs feels... i don't know a little too close for comfort? Might just be a me feeling though, other than that good work.

The timing of this is honestly amazing because a tweet has gone viral recently about The Fall Of Jake Paul and the Why Don’t We verse… that tweet simply says “this is what JID sounds like”

ShinjiGrille58

More uncensored videos! We want to hear you say naughty words like “darn” and “fiddlesticks”

Another banger from the Snare, despite it being about a lot of awful people. The Norm McDonald clip was perfect. As far as censorship goes, I love having the UNRATED, UNCENSORED, AND TOTALLY UNLEASHED version here on Patreon. Sometimes censorship makes things funnier, but also (especially for a video like this) censoring lyrics feels like it dampens the impact. Granted, yes please keep censoring slurs, but other than that, I love having the option to hear it with all the spice.

This reminded me of a period of YouTube that I would like to never remember again, I need the neuralizer from Men in Black for this.

I Remember Asian Jake Paul going so hard when I was twelve

It’s a wild feeling, being in my 30s and being able to remember YouTuber music from before any of this went down. I think the earliest YouTube-specific musician I can remember is Neil Cicierega/Lemon Demon, and he started a short while *before* YouTube launched. I can remember specific lyrics from songs like “Word Disassociation,” “Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny,” “Ben Bernanke,” and “I’ve Got Some Falling To Do,” meaning I’m expecting financial compensation from YouTube’s Oldhead Division any day now. I don’t know what YouTuber music looks like in the future, but I certainly hope it leans more toward stuff made for actual enjoyment like Lemon Demon and less toward trying to A-Minor your fellow creators in the name of cheap views and attention (or using AI to do it like that one crazy Swiftie that’s popped up a bunch of times, I’m spacing on her name).

As someone who avoided channels like these even back then, and only knew their names but not their content and controversies (other than Pewds and the Pauls through osmosis), this new video filled in a lot of blanks for me. Looks like I really wasn't missing out on much!

LITTLE BROTHER JAKEY TRY TO ROAST ME????????????????

I didn't know I needed Mic the Snare swearing in my life but I'm here for it. Go off king

Leaforator

Thank god I'd graduated high school a few years before this era of YT. Knowing my friends were like back then, I would've had to hear these disses on loop. One thing I'm glad you did here was to highlight just how racist PewDiePie was back then (and likely still is on the downlow). I feel like large parts of the internet just forgave him after he moved to Japan without engaging in any critical thinking about his "wholesome uwu redemption arc". Anyway, everybody knows that YouTuber music peaked with the Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged versions of Lady Gaga tracks.

TheBigNayt

I ate ALL of this up when I was younger, also I believe first mention of my obsession WWE on a mic the snare video!!!

DeclanBlueSSD

This is going to be one of your funniest videos of the year. I’m calling it now. I loved this!! Although, quick disclaimer, Deji is not some random guy: He is KSI’s brother.

merzberd

Mic I spent the last 9 years trying to forget YouTuber drama that was popular in middle school, why tf would you instill this information in me again? (Great video)

808_Appreciator

Lol nice vid, but I can't help but say how alot of this saga was another example of an aspect of black culture being appropriated or exploited by non black people for views/exposure without an appreciation of the art. Especilly given the history of diss tracks ending poorly. Atleast KSI to this day continues to drop music, regardless of how u feel of it's quality. I would atleast try to acknowledge that in the video but thats just my thought. Stay fly Mr the snare 💪🏾

MysteryMii

You bringing up Post Malone reacting to It's Everyday Bro reminded me of when the Pauls straight up went to his house without warning when they found out that he had ordered merch from them.

As someone who has to deal with the sidemen on the daily since they are now like a fully establish part of the UK entertainment industry, it is funny how you spell out 'W2S'

Dr. Katz

The biggest reason I think they’ve aged so poorly is simply because YouTuber beefs are usually over petty shit and milked for content for their tween audiences. Compared to a beef like the Kendrick vs Drake beef (which also had some pettiness) that was about real issues Kendrick had with how big and influential Drake had become to the detriment of the culture of hip-hop. Also Kendrick and Drake are real musicians with real talent and decades of experience and connections. The Paul brothers probably paid $50 for a beat and used first draft lyrics in order to pump out the music as fast as possible.
