A good replacement joke there could be something like “biannual?” which means both twice a year (doesn’t have to be six months but usually means that) or once every two years, and then a more accurate “semiannual?” which also means twice a year or once every 6 months. But settling on something silly like “6 month-aversary” which isn’t a word but something some couples use as a joke. Because it feels more accurate because the other two imply that you will count your anniversaries every six months. (Like a 5th semiannual anniversary would mean 2.5 years and a 5th biannual anniversary could mean either 5 or 10 years.)
