It has been a meh week. In German we say “Da war der Wurm drin” (“There was a worm in there”). Nothing went or felt right, I didn’t get much done and my body felt bad the entire time. It didn’t help that I was occupied with a lot of boring paper work and tax stuff, so no big update on the creative part.

It did and did not help that I was also cat sitting my very anxious and high demanding neighbor’s cat. He is the cutest and also energetic little creature. And one of the reasons I didn’t get much done. Being responsible for an animal is something I take very seriously and so I found myself checking on and entertaining him most of the week. Noble ideas like “working while I hang out with the cat” did not work out so well.

People with pets: How do you get anything done!?

I did manage to write and while I’m not completely finished with the chapter… I already know it’s going to be a long one. Oops. But I’m confident I will finish it next week and start the storyboard! I’m very excited and scared to show you my wonky scribbles. 🙈

Das war eine Woche. Da war einfach der Wurm drin.

Nichts wollte richtig laufen, nichts hat geklappt, ich habe kaum etwas geschafft und mein Körper hat sich die ganze Zeit schlecht angefühlt. Und dass ich mich viel mit langweiligem Papier- und Steuerkram auseinandersetzen musste, hat dem kreativen Fluss auch nicht gut getan.

Es hat und hat auch nicht geholfen, dass ich den ängstlichen und aufmerksamkeitshungrigen Kater meiner Nachbar*innen gesittet habe. Er ist das süßeste und energestischste Wesen überhaupt! Und einer der Gründe, wieso ich nichts auf die Reihe bekommen habe. Für ein Tier verantwortlich zu sein ist etwas, was ich sehr ernst nehme und ich habe mich dabei erwischt, wie ich andauern nach ihm geschaut und mich mit ihm beschäftigt habe. Ideen wie “dann arbeite ich, während ich bei dem Kater abhänge” haben nicht so funktioniert, wie ich mir das gedacht hatte.

Menschen mit Haustieren: Wie kriegt ihr irgendetwas gebacken!?

Aber ich habe es geschafft ein wenig zu schreiben, und wenn auch das Kapitel noch nicht komplett fertig ist, kann ich jetzt schon sagen… dass es lang wird. Oops. Aber ich bin zuversichtlich, dass ich nächste Woche damit fertig werde und mit dem Storyboarden beginnen kann. Ich bin schon aufgeregt (und fürchte mich) euch Schnipsel von meinen schnellen Krizeleien zu zeigen. 🙈
