Content note: Zockl is saying and thinking insensitive things about nonbinary people and gender in this one.

Hiii sorry for the last update, I'm recovering from the shock of fighting off two aggressive Rottweile that were attacking my terrified little dog. I got off with some bruises and a scare, my dog was bitten badly but will recover and is already slowly coming back to being the happy menace I know. 😭I wasn't sure if I was ready being a dog-co-parent before, but now I know for sure I would do anything to keep my little friend safe. (100% the handlers fault, the dogs just did what they were trained to do! There are no bad dogs)

So, anyway, Zockl is maybe gonna learn a new perspective and will maybe try out nail polish? XDI cringed a bit while writing this scene because... come on... nail polish, aren't we over this? Who even gets upset about it anymore? But sometimes I get reminded that I live in a queer bubble where people wear whatever they want, it's normal to try out new pronouns and people believe who you are when you tell them. And Zockl being who he is... yeah, it's fitting that nail polish is something he would freak out about (there's a reason he wants nobody to know he had an emo phase and wore black makeup).

Never forget he comes from some small village, all the queer stuff must be terribly new to him :,) I'm in my 30s and still can't shake some assumptions from me. Takes a long time

Also tho if he doesn't want to wear nail polish that's ok too. There is no right way to be queer, you just be true to you and that is the correct way.

Nooo i hope you and your doggo is really okay now :( Also I can understand poor Zockl - i mean, just like Saleb said, he comes from the countryside, where everything is well... more conservative. But it is so good, that Kai didn't make a scene and they just... try to make Zockl understand the whole non-binary being. (And you only think the nailpolish is not a big deal in this days... but sadly it is, for men at least. I had colleagues who was totally out of their mind, when the a new candidate boy who they interviewed had purple nails... and i just sit there and saying over my lunch that "come on... it is only nails"...)

Hope your doggie fully recovers! One of my dogs is reactive and I make sure to handle it properly, dont wish to harm any other dog or person, would feel terrible. People should be more responsible.

Poor Zockl. It seriously sucks when your friend totally vanishes into a relationship. Nothing wrong with Kai, but it certainly doesn't endear them to Zockl.

Tobias would slay some black nail polish, hopefully he’ll come around.

He had an emo phase and wore black make-up, despite thinking it makes others look feminine? I'm guessing that it was something he did *before* either family or friends found out and made fun of him for it.

Super agree to this! If it's okay for anyone to wear nail polish, then the opposite (which is not wanting to) should be totally just as fine! And you're right that there is no right way to be queer, as long as you're being authentic to yourself and not judge others!

I don't think nail polish for guys is necessarily a queer thing. There are some straight guys who wear nail polish and queer guys who still don't want to wear nail polish. Personally, as a girl, I also don't wear because I don't like the upkeep. But I get Zockl's point about being perceived. Like sure, you can control your own gender expression, but you can't control how others perceive you. There are others like Kai who may not care how they're being perceived, but it looks like Zockl is super sensitive of how he's being perceived by others, and that shouldn't be a bad thing (unless it's causing him distress already).
