Growing up without a father sure had implications for Zockls role as older brother as well.I always imagined that Daniel had a very close relationship to his stepdad and when he passed away, Daniel couldn't handle it. He was a rebellious teen and fled his home and grief as much as possible, leaving their mom and Zockl as the second eldest with a lot of responsibility and emotions to deal with on his own.
