YESSSSS

Leon Ricci

You guys do an excellent job- watched you on YouTube for a while and just hopped on here. I appreciate all you do.

Karl Daley

Im here for it, his a creative genius. I haven't a single track but I'm looking forward to it.

Karl Daley

Am I in the right mind for this album?????? Sounding way to sinister so far

slooooth

Daniel Caesar is the feature in St. Chroma !🫶🏽🔥

Tre M

I’m not hearing Drake at all on Sticky tbh

Chris

Someone on genius said “i killed you” is about black hair & how some kill their natural curls or cover up their hair to assimilate to western culture. Idk how accurate it is but it got a lot of thumbs up on it so maybe

Faceless P

every album you guys manage to find a potential drake diss loool

Charles Witherow

I value y’all’s opinion so much fr I find myself waiting to hear what you guys have to say about albums after I’ve formed my own opinions based on what I hear. Seriously yall keep it up!

enzo

The song "I killed you" has a ton of references to black hairstyle + heritage, I think its about him feeling like he wasn't embracing his hair (heritage) enough. I don't blame you guys for missing it on first listen, especially in the album's flow, but I heavy recommend some more listens to appreciate it :^)

EricTheSwedishGuy

Tyler is, according to Twitter, projected to do 250-300k. From a Monday drop. We gotta start talking big 3 if Cole's shit doesn't hit - and I'm a huge Cole fan.

Chris

Are yall from canada? I peeped the raptors hat on prince lol

Xenolithic

Hey Jane is a website that provides pills of a certain nature to women in need. With other rappers I would consider it a coincidence, but not Tyler. He's moving crazy on this album.

shots

Fire reaction. New Ab-Soul album soon, 3 singles out. Early November. West Cosst going crazy this year ❗️

Bpinardi

The part on Sticky you thought sounded like drake I thought sounded like Saba and I had to look it up when I first heard it

tgood

Can’t wait to watch - I really hope you guys catch the drake diss in the 3rd verse of “take your mask off”

ImHigh Sorry

Lame ass comparison lol totally different artistry and work ethic

Hwy

Y’all should check out the new D2x project

babo

i killed you is about black peoples hair and the relationship we and society has had with it.. when you listen to it again it becomes soo obvious

Juztis

Always love your guys’ reactions. Not only do I appreciate how well y’all catch bars, but also how you pay attention to the greater themes across the album and discuss the context relative to the artist themselves. I’m a big tyler fan so I appreciated this listen. Much love

Juztis

Also, I’m glad y’all caught the drake-type flow on sticky too I thought I was goin crazy lol

Zach J

Let’s go!! The best reactors out, hands down.

ImHigh Sorry

Eminem - The Way I Am, he also touches on this subject throught his career on songs like fine line, castle, beautiful, etc.

Jason Norwood

That is not a drake diss. Tyler's talking about himself there with the 'paranoid since 19', 'selling those weird ass clothes'/'put em in a trunk' (He sells luggage thru his Le Fleur brand), etc.

Expectaytions

Loved the reaction, keep it up gents

LeBron's Burner

Don't think he sounded anything like Drake on Sticky tbh but fire reaction as always

Zach J

Never disappoints. You guys are some of the select few who truly appreciate and respect the art that goes into these projects.

Jason Norwood

After a few listens I feel this album is a refined Cherry Bomb where CB was very experimental but it had all the parts to be cohesive and this pulled it all together with sounds from there but also sounds and references from his other work. I get a lot of Wolf feels from this(We get an answer to Answer off Wolf) as well as that sonic feel of his more recent run of Flower Boy/IGOR. A really great album for me and I'd have to go back over everything we've gotten in 2024 but this is up there for AOTY. Excited to see what Ab-Soul has for us next week as it seems like he's going to do a mainstream esque album with that classic Soulo wordplay. Earthgang album was a bit bloated/mid imo which is a bit disappointing but it was a car listen so maybe it'll be better on headphones

dc

Amazing album. Thank you, Tyler. As always, I appreciate the music discussions we can only get here at VibeVilla. Good stuff, guys.

Kagiso M. Keetse

Hey, just out of curiosity isn't "Jane" maybe the same girl from Wilshire and she now might be pregnant with Tyler's baby?

Tony Tone

Yeah, I didn’t hear it at first but now every time I hear him say “always talking about potential bitch I am the better me” that specific bar sounds Drake esque as hell lmao I can’t unhear it.

ewan 510

listen to i killed u while taking it from the pov of him talking abt hair and it will make alot more sense

CoolHapps

I said the same thing, sonically reminiscent to CB but more refined/evolved. Just shows how much he’s grown overall from the themes to the lyrics to the sound

Jayvo

Yes. Tyler is technically a Cali rapper but isn’t claimed because his sound is so different

Chance

If you think Judge Judy still being on TV is absurd, you should look up how much money she makes (spoiler: it’s $47 million per year).

Hunter Graham

in I killed you i believe that tylers talking about his hair

Sam M

I think it’s about the baby they aborted per the previous track, Hey Jane (double entendre involved though)

troy garner

Is that last verse on take your mask off about drake

Lizzie

great video 🙏🏼 I couldn’t agree more about to monday/friday drops. If your album is full of bangers, drop that on a friday! if it’s conceptual/chill, that’s a monday drop. I hope more artists do it.

Nick Rosman

not including your reaction to doechii's "Air them out like a queef" is a crime.

Tyler Jones

no hes talking to himself i believe

Diego Cortes

Yeah it’s about black peoples hair, he’s talking about blow outs and kinks and curls and how people don’t understand their “hair”-itage

Diego Cortes

Talking about berries and oils and how he killed his hair with chemicals and trying to straighten it out too. I mean, he had to kinda address his hair style in a way

Itz Zay

ngl I'm surprised you guys didn't point out the first verse in Take Your Mask Off sounding like it could be shots towards drake but instead reached even harder for the Sticky verse lmaooo

Jae Right

Yes! Sticky is Hillbillies Pt. 2! Full circle trolling. 😂

Jae Right

Generational trauma of hyper-independence: In Hey Jane, she is willing to have this baby and raise it overseas, in the same way that Tyler’s mother later apologizes for intentionally raising him apart from his father, even though both men are ultimately referred to as cool and good.

Renny

I killed you is about the truama around our hair

Ethan

Maddest Theory but let me land: at the end of the track of Like Him, his mum talks about how it’s her fault. But he still strives to be like him. In Hey Jane he raps about nearly having a kid and the B side of that track speaks on her doing it alone. Tyler was nearly Like Him. Having a child he wasn’t ready for. The Flip side: listening to Like Him and Hey Jane could be interpreted as a conversation between his mum and his dad - rather than it being his pregnancy scare

Ethan

Possibly. My theory is that Hey Jane is actually the Tyler’s thoughts of how conversation/process his mum and his dad went through before Tyler was born.

ImHigh Sorry

Drake does not have a tear drop under his eye, he has his Moms initials

ADI1992

The beat on the second half of Sticky is from Get Buck by Young Buck, I’ve always thought it was straight 🔥

MJ

lol y'all always reaching but I don't mind it at all lol Love y'all fr haha. My friend passed that I used to check out music with and we would be doing the same thing. It's been since 2020. I appreciate y'all doing this!

Angel Gabriel

Like him , the ending where his mom confesses got me heated at her. Tyler his whole life talking shit on his dad not knowing his dad always wanted to be there… kinda feel bad for the man.. but yea that song made me be mad at Tyler’s mom . But it’s for sure my favorite song cause I relate heavy. That shit even got me thinking what if my mom did that to me. I grew up without a father

Trent Williams

Killed you is about the importance and jaded history of a black man and his hair

Trent Williams

And to do an entire song with doubles and triples never straying from the hair bars is insane bro

Dheeraj

this album leaves you speechless and contemplating is the very purpose of it. legendary album

James Miley

Why are the Patreon reactions not uncut?

Marvelus

In a nutshell, “I killed you” he’s rapping about how we treat/do black hair/heritage.

Anthony Videtto

Glossing over his verse on thought i was dead is a crime

Maya

Right. I just paid thinking I’m bout to watch with the full songs. and it’s still chopped like it’s YouTube.

Chris Appleton

lol not just black men bro. Black people's hair in general.

Christien Stribling

prince asking "what's happening ?" during sticky , was HILARIOUS .🤣

Mumia Bagley

This shit was super trash dawg lol and I’m only saying it’s trash because it’s labeled as a hip hop album lol bruh this ain’t no dam hip hop lol this man is barely rapping hell I wouldn’t even call it rapping lol I’m sorry this some good disco party like music but if we considering this a hip hop album this shit is super trash man be fr lol I can’t take yall reaction serious lol

Jose Noel Cruz

everybody is entitled to their own opinions, but this is an awful take bro. it may not have been a full "rap" album but it still has a TON of bars and rapping on it. and as a project as a whole, its one of the best of 2024
