Yall should react to MIKE! he's so fire, very poetic, very introspective over soulful instrumentals. His album "Disco!" is the one I would suggest, my fav album of 2021.

New Tobi Lou album is good and it’s got some crazy features, even got Dame Dolla

y’all geeking over MIKE’s rhyme schemes was so fire because this is literally what he does. he’s been one of the best and most consistent rappers in the game in my opinion since about 2017 and he’s known for his layered lyrics and never ending schemes usually ranging 16-32 straight bars (and sometimes more) of one central set of rhymes. he’s incredible and one of the most underrated in the game and i highly recommend any of his projects, but for ease you should probably listen to his most recent and most accessible project, beware of the monkey. i’d love a reaction just because he’s been one of my favorites for so long, but you should definitely check it out regardless.

"I'll walk you down with that drum like the second line" Second line is kind of parade tradition from New Orleans with lots of music. Typically also a kind of funeral procession/celebration. New Orleans is also seen as an early originator of the drum kit. I know I'm late to this, but I'm a new patron and just caught this.

Standout track to me is the opener, as I'm a huge Earl fan and I'm growing to like billy woods the more I understand what he's doing with his rhyme style. The opening soundscape is fire. Alchemist has an unmatched cinematic production style and utilizes random snippets of dialogue better than almost all producers even remotely in his lane. I always like to think of Earl's bars as a perfect representation of how you fight depression. "Uneasy steps, deep in it like needle in flesh, in the center couldn't see the end ..." and then to go right into the idea of how indecision can cloud your judgment speaks to me. The Jordan Peele scheme hits because I always feel like he's getting at the idea of how you can be your own worst enemy when your brain spins you out all day. He could just be doing the whole "villain" thing as an ode to DOOM. Either way, it's dope. I feel like he writes his stuff to have more than one meaning. On MIKE's verse, I think yall would like Weight of the World or Disco! MIKE's music perfectly captures a mix between malaise and elation.
