Ultimate Pirate

Chapter 3

…

Ben wakes up on a beach on Jaya. Takes stock on what happened and recalls his fight with Eneru. He hopes that Aisa was able to make it out okay. He criticizes himself and promises not to go easy on Eneru in round 2. He looks up and doesn't see any clouds. He wonders where he is and where Skypiea is.

He sees a few sail ships approaching the island and wonders if there's a town on the island. He follows the beach and finds Mock Town.

…

Walks around town, noting that it does have a criminal vibe to it. Reminds him of scenes from that Pirates of the Seven Seas franchise (Meta: parody of Pirates of the Caribbean). Sees the Wanted posters on a board in town square, including Luffy and Zoro’s.

Goes to a local tavern called Pub and Pies, asking the bar tender questions where he is. He says he’ll answer if he buys something. Ben says he’ll need to open a tab since he doesn’t have money. Ben learns that Beri is the accepted currency in this world, at least in the “Blue Sea world.”

Ben asks if there’s any hotels around here. There are, but no one will give him a room unless he has money. He asks if there’s any easy way to get money on this island. The bar tender chuckles. Without stealing from someone else? He could get part time work. He also mentions that the Fish Houses at port also take certain fish species for high prices. Ben notes this.

The bar tender reveals he’s also the owner and offers Ben a job as a bouncer if he’s up for it. He’ll even let him sleep in the back storage unit for the night.

With no money and options, Ben accepts the offer.

…

Later that night, in the bar’s storage unit, Ben is sitting on a cot with a small lantern and moonlight from window providing light.

Ben is attentively reviewing footage and data from his battle with Eneru via the Omnitrix. He locks onto what Eneru said about Mantra. He needs to get more information on that and how he can counter it. Diamondhead was able to cancel out his lightning body, but he’ll need to determine a better gameplan to take down this “fake god”. It starts with finding a way to get around his Mantra.

Another thought enters his head. Because he was knocked unconscious, he has no clue what direction Skypiea is in. The Omnitrix confirms it had transformed Ben into Ripjaws the moment he went unconscious in the ocean to keep him alive, where he would later wash up on shore.

He looks out the window, thinking of Conis, Pagaya, and Su. He declares that he’ll return to Skypiea and free them from the rule of that fake god Eneru. Just give him time.

…

Aisa returns to her village on Ben’s Waver Hoverboard, losing control and crashing to the cloud-ground. Some of the villagers asks if she’s okay and where she got that strange board.

She ignores the questions and runs to find Wyper.

She divulges everything that she saw in the Upper Yard… ending on the fact that Eneru bled.

There would be skepticism at first, but they’d believe her. Aisa’s story would line up with the timeline of Eneru’s sudden attack on the Upper Yard.

Hearing proof that Eneru is not invincible would stroke their determination.

Wyper starts asking for details from Aisa on this Blue Sea dweller who injured Eneru. All information is valuable in learning about a possible weakness they can exploit.

…

The next day, Ben starts as a bouncer.

He keeps tabs on people’s conversations, trying to collect information. No mention of Skypiea, Eneru, or Mantra.

There’s an argument between two men over a card game, each one accusing the other of cheating. Ben tries to defuse the fight but is brushed off.

He then transforms into Four Arms, scaring the troublemakers into backing down and leaving. Everyone else is impressed and makes sure not to act out around the bar now.

The bar owner is impressed, asking if Ben’s a Devil Fruit user. This confuses Ben.

Explanation on what Devil Fruits are.

Ben then asks what Mantra is. The bar owner is clueless about that.

Ben: “Anyone here actually believe in sky islands? Like, not as a joke.”

Typical response: Mocking, then… “If you’re serious, talk to Cricket. That weirdo’s obsessed.”

The scene is interrupted by commotion outside. Across the street, Bellamy is fighting a few pirates, accusing them of disrespecting him.

Bellamy shows off his Devil Fruit ability.

Explanation of who Bellamy is. Ben clocks Bellamy just in case.

…

Later that day, following his lunch break, Ben heads back toward Pub and Pies.

Before he reaches the door, he hears shouting and a heavy thud.

Jèsus Burgess is out front making a scene, loud and physical, treating the place like it owes him attention.

Townsfolk gather fast, excited for violence the way Mock Town always is.

Ben approaches Burgess, stepping between him and the door, posture calm but firm.

Dialogue intent: Ben tries polite authority first.

“Settle down or you’re out.”

Burgess laughs at him, calls him a kid, asks where the “big red four-armed bouncer” is.

Burgess says he heard rumors: a monster bouncer at this bar. He wants to test that strength.

Ben confirms he’s the one—Burgess scoffs, says Ben’s too small, too soft.

Ben refuses: “Dude, I’m not fighting you. I’m working.”

Burgess escalates to force consent: punches the signpost, splintering it and rattling the street. “That good enough?”

Crowd reacts: cheers, betting talk, “Let’s go!”

Ben’s annoyance crosses the line into “fine.”

He transforms into Rath.

Rath vs Burgess: wrestling spectacle

Beat structure:

• Burgess goes for brute grapples and power slams.

• Rath meets him with savage counters, headbutts, shoulder charges, and trash talk.

• They crash through market stalls / barrels / signage, escalating property damage.

Crowd becomes an arena:

Pirates chant, throw coins, argue odds.

Pub owner is impressed Ben is “handling it.”

Rath starts winning: gets Burgess off-balance, humiliates him with a throw.

Before Rath can finish it cleanly, a new voice cuts in from the edge of the crowd.

Teach’s entrance intent: easy confidence, not shouting. The crowd shifts around him.

Teach stops it with presence (and possibly Burgess obeying instantly), not because he’s “saving Ben,” but because it’s wasting time and drawing heat.

Rath transforms back to Ben.

Ben’s body language: guarded. The hair on his neck is up.

Teach looks Ben over like he’s appraising livestock and treasure at once.

Teach asks in a relaxed tone, each question simple but loaded:

“What’s your bounty?”

Ben: “I don’t have one.”

Beat: crowd reacts. “No bounty?” “Then who is this kid?”

“Devil Fruit?”

Ben deflects, then chooses to lie cleanly: “Yeah. A weird one.”

“And what are you doing in Mock Town?”

Ben answers half-truth: “Trying to get by. Trying to get home.”

Teach clocks the contradictions without calling them out.

Teach corrects Burgess: “Why are you fighting a nobody?” Teach turns to Burgess, annoyed but not angry. Dialogue intent: Teach reminds him they are here for purpose, not fun. “We didn’t come to brawl with kids.”

Ben’s ears perk at that: purpose? It hooks his curiosity.

Teach sighs. Saying he needs a drink after this headache.

Ben stays professional, even with the uneasy feeling: “You can drink at Pub and Pies if you act responsible when I’m on duty.”

Teach repeats “pies” with interest (a small character moment), amused that Ben is still “working” in this situation.

Burgess blurts confusion about the rumor: “But the rumors said he was a four-armed guy earlier!”

Ben, on the spot, commits to a single lie: “My fruit lets me take different monster forms.”

Teach’s interest spikes—multi-form ability is ridiculous value.

Teach asks casually, almost bored: “And where you headed once you’ve got money, kid?”

Ben slips—just enough to matter: “Back to Skypiea. There’s… someone up there I’m not finished with.”

Beat: Teach’s expression changes subtly. Not shock—recognition + hunger.

Teach gives Ben a line that sounds like an offer but is really bait: “If you’re strong and you’re hungry… you could do well with us.”

Ben refuses or sidesteps without escalating: “I’m good.”

Teach laughs, not insulted. He’s just filed Ben under Interesting.

Teach ends with a friendly-sounding warning/compliment: “Stay alive, then. Mock Town eats the careless.”

He turns away, calling Burgess with him.

Burgess grumbles but follows.

Ben watches Teach go.

Internal beat: Ben doesn’t know why, but he feels there’s more to him than meets the eye.

…

The next day, Ripjaws is swimming through the ocean with a net full of fish behind them. He thinks he has enough to bring in a good amount of money.

Then he spots a gold figure on the seafloor. Ripjaws picks it up and admires it. (Note: a figure of a Shandora idol). Looks like he’s getting some extra Berri!

...

Later, he trades the fish and gold for a good amount of Berri. He goes to the Tropical Inn to get a room so he’s not staying in the Pub and Pies storage unit.

He internally maps out his gameplan for how he’ll return to Skypiea without Eneru instantly noticing him. He believes this Mantra might have something to do with electromagnetic waves or sound, but he doesn’t know enough to be sure.

He could use Echo-Echo or Ultimate Echo-Echo to emit a sound barrier to block it out…but he’s not totally sure that’ll work and his appearance would likely gain the Skypieans attention and get them talking, which would definitely alert Eneru.

He considers maybe using Ghostfreak or Big Chill to go intangible and invisible. Maybe that could work? Or maybe Eneru’s Mantra would be able to track them too?

He sighs in frustration. Since Eneru knows about his Skypiean form, he can’t use Ingram to sneak back in either.

Then…that gives him an idea. A disguise. An alternate disguise. One that not only conceals his appearance…but also his voice. Something that Eneru hasn't seen or heard yet.

He knows just the alien for the job.

Great! He now has a way to re-enter Skypiea without immediately alerting Eneru. Now he just needs to find a way back there. Easier said than done.

He then remembers Cricket. It sounds like he’s the only one on the island who doesn’t laugh at the mention of Skypiea. Ben decides he’ll pursue more information on him tomorrow.

…

The next day, Ben is back at the pub working as the bouncer. He is posted near the entrance: arms crossed, weight on one leg, bored-but-alert.

He casually works the room:

• listens for gossip

• tries to steer a drunk away from a fight

• mentally notes who looks armed, who looks desperate, who looks rich.

He tries to prompt the “Cricket” topic without sounding obsessed. What he does and why does everyone mock him?

Ben files the responses away, keeps his face neutral.

The door opens and Ben’s mood tightens instantly.

Teach is posted at the bar area.

Ben keeps his expression flat and professional.

He avoids direct eye contact, but watches Teach’s hands and posture.

Teach notices Ben anyway (because Teach notices everything useful) but doesn’t engage yet.

Ben hears enough to know Teach is in “hunting” mode. What he’s hunting though? He doesn’t know.

Door swings open again: Luffy first, Zoro behind him, Nami scanning like a hawk.

Nami’s eyes flick over Ben and linger a beat on him.

Luffy’s attention goes straight to food/smells/noise.

Zoro gives Ben the classic “bouncer? noted” glance.

Ben overhears talk about sky islands and treasure like it’s a punchline. He tries to stay out of it, but the mention makes him visibly tense.

Teach and Luffy have their canon ideological clash (dreams, pies, drinks).

Ben is hyper-aware and ready to intervene if it turns violent. He doesn’t step in during words.

When voices rise, Ben does his job: “If you’re gonna fight, take it outside.”

Teach grins like Ben’s comment is entertaining rather than threatening.

Teach leaves with his huge pie order, laughing, and Ben watches him go with unease.

Door swings open again, louder, more aggressive energy.

Bellamy and crew enter like they own the place.

Ben immediately clocks:

• these guys are here to start trouble

• they’re bored and looking for sport.

Nami asks about Sky Island (canon beat).

The room laughs.

Someone elbows Ben or calls out:

“Hey bouncer, ask her about her fairy tales!”

“This kid was asking about Sky Island yesterday!”

Ben’s jaw tightens. He keeps it professional but cold:

• “Drink your drink.”

• “Don’t start with me.”

Bellamy targets Luffy/Zoro. The humiliation beating begins (canon vibe).

Ben stays still at first because:

• it’s not his job to referee every idiot fight

• and Luffy/Zoro aren’t asking for help.

Though Ben does give credit to Luffy and Zoro for not fighting back. He’s reminded of when he finally stood up to JT and Cash without throwing a punch.

The moment Bellamy’s crew starts:

• smashing tables near civilians,

• drawing blades,

• or aiming a potentially lethal hit (head stomp with intent, weapon, etc.)

Ben moves, transforming into Four Arms. He steps between Bellamy’s crew and the “this could turn into a massacre” threshold.

Reaction beats:

• the bar goes quiet

• Nami’s eyes widen, instantly thinking “Devil Fruit?”

• Zoro’s stare sharpens (threat assessment)

• Luffy lights up with excitement (“That’s awesome!” energy)

Four Arms issues the bouncer ultimatum: “Outside. Now. Or you’re out.”

Nami takes Luffy and Zoro and say they’ll just leave, dragging them both out. Bellamy laughs at them, calling them ridiculous for pursuing such foolish dreams.

Four Arms watches them leave. He tells the owner: thanks for the work, but he’s moving on (Cricket, Skypiea, mission). He gives him some Berri for damages and gratitude for his help.

Ben steps outside and catches up with Nami, Luffy, and Zoro. (Note: this is after their meeting with Teach). Luffy declares Ben as the ‘four-armed guy’.

Ben commends Luffy and Zoro for standing their ground. Nami doesn’t get it since they got their butts kicked without fighting back. Ben says that not all battles can be won with fists.

Zoro is confused why the bouncer had followed them and curtly asks what Ben wants.

Ben asks if they’re really trying to get to Skypiea. Nami sighs, saying she’s not in the mood for anyone else mocking them.

Ben doesn’t. He tells them that Skypiea is real…and he was there just a few days ago.

Weirdsmurf

Did you nerf Ben cause I don’t think teach can seriously hurt him nor can eneru, diamond head in omniverse got punched from a planet to a moon and got back up if only shortly, and that’s just diamond head one of his middle hitters

Weirdsmurf

Also glad your back ultimate fairy was one of the first good fanfics that I read when I first found out about fanfics

Ultimate10

No I did not nerf Ben. Teach didn’t hurt Ben. They don't fight. Diamondhead wasn’t hurt per se either. He was just blasted off of Upper Yard. He was focused on protecting Aisa and making sure that she got away from the blast.

Hunter of The

I'm liking how everything is looking, and interested to see what Ben does to avoid "mantra". I am curious to see which is better, Teach's Darkness, or Gravatak's orbit. All of the options Ben is going through to beat Eneru are interesting. Theoretically Ben could hit him before he can go intangible if he is fast enough with XLR8, but Mantra again makes things difficult. Hopefully things can go better, and less painful for everyone involved.
