Hi everyone,

I’ve been painting up a storm lately, and I wanted to give you a little preview of what’s in the works:

Sole Mate

Pictured above. A playful one featuring a tiny mouse hiding in Dom’s shoes. A bit of fun and a lot of detail – this one’s for those who love storytelling in their paintings.

Zoomed-In Poppy – Bold, bright, and full of drama. This close-up floral is all about colour blending and capturing the folds of those delicate petals.

Kingfisher – This one was requested and I’m glad it was- it was fun to paint!

Olive Branch on Aquabord – A simple botanical study on Aquabord. I’ll walk you through how to paint on this surface and get smooth blends without fuss.

The Goat  - Expressive eyes, textured fur, and loads of personality. I couldn’t resist painting this goofy face.

Now, about the old rusty ute in the paddock (Field Relic, as I’ve been calling it)... I have filmed it, but it would be a big tutorial - lots of steps, layers, and editing time. If enough of you are keen, I’ll commit to finishing it. Let me know in the comments if you’d love to see that one turned into a full tutorial!

And this is just a taste - I’ve got lots more tutorials I’m planning, so stay tuned!

Leisa

Jacky Lub

You've been really busy, stunning 👌🏼😅

Caterina B

All these are is so wonderful and vibrant images. If time permits, as you seem very busy, it would be great to try out the old car in landscape as a tutorial or written guide. Makes a great male gift. Thank you

Sue ison

Of yes the rusty old car & the poppy but live them all

Linda

All fantastic🥰👍🏻. I remember in my high school days I painted an old truck and homestead nestled in the Aussie bush (think it was acrylic) and I loved it (long gone now🙄). Your truck reminds me of it a little and I would love a full tutorial but you seem to have so much going on😳. Only if you have the time🎨. How is the recovery progressing?

Louise De Masi

Thanks Linda! I'll get onto it as soon as I can. It will take me a while because it's a big one. I painted it about 18 months ago and I've been sitting on it. Recovery not great- unfortunately. I have to see a hand surgeon in Newcastle next month. I'm having a lot of pain and very limited movement. Dr's here seem to think the titanium plate has to come out. I also have carpal tunnel syndrome because of the accident and my ulna is now longer than my radius which is causing pain issues.....other than that - all is good! Thank you for asking. 🥰

Louise De Masi

Yes - sorry Leisa. I thought of it at the last minute and just finished it today. I was going to paint a hydrangea but then remembered it was Anzac Day so I switched flowers. You can take your time with it now and have it for next year. ❤️

Ariane

@Louise, I am so sorry to hear about your recovery not going smoothly and that it is still so painful. I hope the hand surgeon will be able to make significant improvements to your condition

Janie

I love all of these! Would love to see expanded version of the truck. So much to learn! Thank you Louise!

Linda

Sorry to hear, Louise😟Fingers crossed for you🌺.

Patricia Maraia

Yes, I would love to learn how to paint the rusty truck, just what I like. Thank you Louise. Pat

Lynn Muster

Yes to the old truck!!! I painted the other one as well. It’s in my husband’s office and is still one of my favorites 🥰

Monalisa Mackey

Hi Louise, I am so sorry you are having issues with the recovery of your hand. Praying that it will all be resolved and that your hand mobility will be restored and the pain will go away 🙏🏻🙏🏻💕. I especially love the poppy and the truck! 😀. The field mouse in the shoes painting is super cute too and the goat is absolutely adorable! 😊

Risha Formanowicz

I love your animals the most 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

When we moved to our farm in 78, there was an old beatup truck in the field. Yes, this brings back memories of days gone by, and of time treasures .

Jane Holkema

I like them all and would enjoy the old truck as well.

Christine Zeiler

I love the blue tennis shoes with the little mouse. Actually, all of them are wonderful, but I am looking for a gift for a little boy’s room. The blue shoes would be perfect.

Christine Zeiler

Susan

My son in law is in the automotive business. His parents started in 1948: lots of old cars/trucks around. I'd love to paint similar for him.

Elissa

The mouse in the shoe is adorable!

Janet

Hi Louise. Would you consider turning your hydrangea in vase into a tutorial? Or perhaps other flowers in a vase? I'm dying to do such a painting but always struggle with them.

Terrie Tooms

Every one is different and it intrigues me. I’d like to be able to paint them all. ❤️

Allison Moore

I think there's a lot to learn from all these tutorials, including the field relic.

Ellen

Love them all!!!

Natalie Hughes

Oh exciting. So many wonderful things to look forward to :D

Jessie RA

How fun! Would you please make the relic video? I’d love to see how you approached the subject.

Linda O'Neill

I love everything! Looking forward to it.

Sammie Bryant

Wow, I like all of them. You are so talented! I look forward to the Kingfisher and the poppy the most. That relic would be fun to paint. I like the details, the stories it could tell. We have a relic on the family farm, it would be fun to paint.

Patricia Douglas

All of them look gorgeous and lots of fun to paint!

Sammie Bryant

Oh no! I just read your reply to Linda. We all need to be aware. I'm so sorry! I assumed, shame on me, that you were fine. You keep putting out tutorials with no complaints so I think we all thought you were ok. I'm so sorry for your pain and the current problems with your hand. I pray that all is soon resolved. There is nothing worse than living with pain. My prayers are with you for answers and healing. 🙏❣️🙏

Kerrie

I just joined your Patreon group but have been following you on You Tube for years. I would especially like to paint the old Rusty truck and the poppies. However, take your time on the truck and exert your energies on healing.

April

So sorry to hear the titanium needs to come out, very sorry you’re still in pain. I hope you can get better soon. I would greatly prefer a princess parrot or pink cockatoo, or the rainbow lorikeet than a truck, but please do what you love. The other projects look lovely. Thank you so much for all your love and passion for watercolor and all your hard work.

D lonergan

I know we all wait rather impatiently for your tutorials, with little thought to your health and many other things going on in your life. I apologize for all of us! We love you! These are all fantastic and would be enjoyable/challenging….so, whatever you do will be appreciated.

Genie

I would love a full tutorial on the rusty car.

Bonnie Williams

all of these are gorgeous -- would love the rusty truck but really just love everything you do!

Mersina Achele

Allan B

All sounds wonderful! Personally, I’m very keen on the Ute

Gerry M

They're all amazing!!

Kathy

Oh Louise, I’m so sorry to hear about the pain you are experiencing. Hoping the Dr’s can provide some relief and answers.

Robert Edwards

The mouse hiding in the shoes; the goat and the truck... all wonderful and challenging.

Louise De Masi

Hi Janet - I'll work on a simpler version of flowers in a vase for a tutorial.

Barbara Rowland

I am so grateful for the time and energy you put into such incredible content! If you have the bandwidth (and only if! Focus on healing and creativity!) then I, too, would love to see the truck :) could always be a few months down the road :)

Kara Cox

I would love a poppies tutorial! I am always drawn to your vibrant poppy paintings and have wanted to try one for myself but the detail in the crinkly petals is a bit daunting.

Joyce A Stevens

Oh, how I wish this was a Blue Poppy. That is what I am "trying" to paint now.

Ali B

Yes, please! The rusty truck was one of my favorites!

Sue ison

I would like to do an old ute I have a photo of I would like to add a couple of small children want to call my turn to drive how do I get the size of the children right

Louise De Masi

Whenever I combine images, I use Photoshop - I import the photos and resize the elements (like the kids) until the proportions look right to my eye. You don’t need Photoshop though. Free programs like Photopea (online), GIMP, or even Canva can help you layer and resize images too. Just make sure the kids' heads are roughly in proportion to things like the car door or tyres - that’s a good guide.

Greta granger

I love them all but definitely the poppy please xxx

Ashley B

Love them all! Especially the poppy and the old Ute!!

Yvonne Stanley

Love them all! I painted your rusty old truck one not long ago, just charged with some turquoise colour, turned out great!

Katherine Laise

So excited for them all, but especially the Aquabord. Thanks Louise :) I would also love to do the old "relic"

Mariam G

Louise, I am sorry to hear that your hand is not healing as it should have. I do hope you will find some relief soon. I simply love the tutorials you have coming, and yes, the truck is fabulous, but I agree with others that your health is your priority right now, and besides - it will give us something big to look forward to in the future! Take care.

Cynthia Keith

Your new tutorials are lovely. The relic truck when your injury of your hand permits.

Kimberly Hood

I love the sneakers and the mouse! It is gorgeous!

Lynn

oh the rusty truck would be a wonderful tutorial!! It would actually be a match with the current one you have in your collection and then finding a third partner to make a college of 3 painting to all go together !! I can actually see it now!! can't wait

Janice Moss

This truck is perfect and what I’m looking for.

Karen Dalton

I would like very much for you to do the rusty truck tutorial. Can hardly wait to paint it.

Christine Carr

I would absolutely love to see a full tutorial on the truck and feel it would be worth the extra time on my part and the length of the tutorial would not matter to me esp with the end result But I would also be ok with the wait while you heal and will give me something to look forward to thank you again for all the hard work you put into these tutorials for us

Joy Wright

So much here - I’d love to see all of them as a tutorial ❤️

Heike Trotno

I love the poppy ... this flower inspires me much. I know, that red isn't easy to paint. But I can't wait to paint it along with you, Louise. But first of all I hope that your hand will soon getting better and heals!!!

Barbara Constant

please don't forget the poppy! I have totally loved the other tutorials

Louise De Masi

Thanks Barbara - I'm currently working on the poppy tutorial.

Lori DiPaola

The sneakers and poppy are fantastic! I would love to paint an elephant with the “ lost” edges like the seal … even though I haven’t mastered that yet; just worked on the seagulls.. still a new concept. I’m really enjoying my involvement so far ( 4 days..!) ❤️

MB

Love the rusty ute in the paddock - hope you make this a tutorial
