Hi everyone. Welcome to my Patreon page.

When I went to university to become a school teacher they taught me to be a life-long learner. That's one of the best traits a teacher can have and I believe we should all be life-long learners. I want to spend the rest of my Iife learning and growing. I want to help you on your painting journey and together we will grow and become better artists.

I am still finding my way here as I get to know how this platform works so bear with me as I learn to navigate my way around. I'll be posting work in progress photos, full length, voiced-over painting tutorials and lots of other interesting content for my Patrons. Thank you so much for your support.

Hi Louise, so glad I finally signed up (have been lurking around watching your videos on YouTube) I am a big admirer of your work !!... we re neighbours as I live in the Port Macquarie Hinterland on 3 stunning, bird filled acres.. my husband is a bird photographer https://500px.com/rogerfance and we run a BnB https://www.facebook.com/theridgeretreatportmacquarie having escaped Gotham City (Sydney) 3 years ago.. I have been painting for 15 months (never painted before, I was a florist) and paint a minimum of 2hrs per day (getting the miles behind the brush as they say). I am totally obsessed with all things watercolour and looking forward to completing your tutorials. I also love John Lovett (Currumbin QLD)... very different to you but he is equally as talented International Artist with great teaching books, workshops and tutorials.. I am not "into" landscape but love his paintings, approach and technique . My work can be seen on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tracyhugheswatercolourartist My goal is to exhibit with my husband "bird for bird" ... "brush meets lense" .... last week I completed a Superb Fairy-wren on a garden stake in the garden, Rog won an international photo comp with the image.... its on my FB page. Anyway, was hoping you might run a workshop class at some stage... I know its probably not a good use of your limited time re online tutorials but just wanted to ask cause I am first in line!! Anyhow, thanks for reading this looong message (was meant to be short... hahah) Cheers Tracy xx

Louise De Masi

Hi Tracy, welcome neighbour! Thank you for all those links. I'll have a look as soon as I write this message. We have lots in common. John Lovett is one of my favourite artists. I saw an exhibition of his in Sydney once and his work is even better in person. He was demonstrating a watercolour painting. He is amazing! I'm not into landscape painting either but I love his loose approach. I have one of his books. If I wasn't a school teacher/ artist I would have been a florist. I think it would be so lovely to work with flowers all day. I'll certainly let you know about any face to face workshops if I ever do any. I use to teach acrylic painting workshops when I was in my thirties. They were good times. I have lots of great memories. Thank you for becoming a patron. I look forward to chatting with you. I'm, off to check out your links. xx

Marianne Bindemanis

Hi Louise , l have just signed up for your classes and look forward to go on the watercolour journey with you. I do pet portraits in pastel and colour pencil and have been toying on and off over the last year trying to figure out how to use this frustrating medium. I give up and have a break for a few months then start again ! When I saw that you are now on Patreon that inspired me to have another go. I love doing birds, l have done a few in pastel but l love the look of watercolour. I have a Facebook page , Pet Portraits by Marianne Bindemanis , and one day you never know l might post a picture done in watercolour 🤣 !! I greatly admire your work and your easy to follow tutorials, and look forward to the journey into watercolour , kind regards Marianne

Louise De Masi

Hi Marianne. Welcome! I'm glad you're here. Let me know if there is anything at all I can help you with. Watercolour has a mind of its own but when you start to understand it it's a joy to use. 🧡

Nancy

I'm so excited to have found you!! Really looking forward to working with your tutorials

Kristýna Kloudová

Hi Louise and greetings from the Czech republic :-), I´ve found you on Youtube and I am very glad that I can be one of your students now. I used to paint with oil but now I am pregnant and I want to use non toxic materials so I decided watercolors and I hope that your courses will help me to love them, now I am little bit struggling and want my oil colours back. I love to paint landscapes and nature. So let the jorney begins. Best regards. Kristýna (PS: I love your work, it is amazing :-)).

Ratna

Hello Louise, happy to be here as your tutorials are so in depth yet so simple. That makes you a fantastic teacher . Could you please post one video with portrait, I lwould love to see you paint a human face :)

Louise De Masi

Hi Ratna, Welcome and thank you very much. I have had a few people ask about this. I've never painted a portrait in watercolour. I have painted some in acrylic paint but not watercolour so I will need to practice first. As soon as I have had a chance to do that (and as long as I'm successful) I will make a tutorial.

Pamela Rivera

Hi Robyn, welcome again. I'm glad you're here, you're practically a neighbour....😝. Dom and little Logan are doing well. Thank you! 🥰

Megan (Megabyte)

I'm SO excited! Hi Louise, I first found you on SkillShare, and just now signed up to your patreon. I really resonated with you because as an Australian (SW Victoria) watercolourist, I've found it really hard to find tutorials and guidance for native flora & fauna and now I've got it. I'm here! Wahoo! I used to be a Registered Nurse at the Children's Hospital in Westmead (Sydney) in the Operating Theatre (Scrub/Scout), I left when my eldest (now 10) was born with congenital heart & lung defects to care for her, and I never returned to work. We moved to Victoria for my husband to join Victoria Police, and now we live in a quiet little seaside town (Portland/Cape Bridgewater, Victoria) and I care for my 2 girls (10 & 4), my mother & support my now Police Sergeant husband. My dream is to turn my passion for watercolour into a new career, but I have an immense thirst for knowledge and so right now, as I've only been painting since Dec 2020 (when I can, with little people around), I'm still building up my skills and confidence.

Louise De Masi

Hi Megan, I'm happy you're here and I hope you will learn a lot from myself and my other patrons. It sounds like you live in a beautiful place. I've never heard of it so I'm going to google it. 💕
