My tutorials are designed to help you on your creative journey. Any painting you create from a tutorial where I use my own reference photo is for personal use only. They can't be sold or entered into an art competition. I write on the Supplies Lists where the photos come from. Permission is not given to paint any of my earlier paintings that are not tutorials because some of them are licensed. Also, a few of my earlier paintings were painted from photographs where I sought the permission of the photographer. The photographer gave me permission to use it, not others.

If I do a tutorial where I use another photographer's photo (eg from Pixabay or Unsplash) that is available for anyone throughout the world to download (copyright free) and use I’m happy for you to sell the paintings you create from the tutorial.

If I do a tutorial and I use a photo that I have paid for and downloaded from the website Wildlife Reference Photos in order for you to sell the painting you create from the tutorial you need to purchase and download the photograph yourself. This is in accordance with the Terms and Services of the Wildlife Reference Photo website.

If you share a finished painting on social media I would really appreciate it if you could link back to my account (be it on Facebook, YouTube or Instagram) and mention that you painted it in one of my tutorials. @louisedemasi

Thank you!

Hi Louise. You showed the Lillies from a number of angles but I can’t seem to recall where! I would like to see them from different angles.

Louise De Masi

Hi Theresa, I only filmed it from above so I'm not sure where you saw different angles. This is the only tutorial I have of this painting.

What may we sub for Azo Yellow, PY151? I have Nickel Azo Yellow, PY150, and about a dozen other yellows, and I don't really want to go buy another.

Louise De Masi

Don't go buying more yellows. Use what you have. Mix the yellow with your blue until you get a green you like. Try the Nickel Azo mixed with blue- if you don't like the green it gives you try one of your other yellows.

Carol Factor

the stamens on the large lily didn't turn out right. The masking fluid I put on wasn't in nice straight lines like yours when I took the dried fluid off. Now I don't know how to fix them: paint over them with the pink color and then try to put the stamens in with light paint? Start all over? Next time I'll be more careful when painting in the masking fluid. Thank you, Louise.

Louise De Masi

Hi Carol, I'm not a fan of using masking fluid because I sometimes have the same problem. When it happens to me and I don't like the shape of the white area that the masking fluid has created I'll wet the area beside the masking fluid and then I'll put some more colour on right up against the white area to change the shape of it with my paint. The water on the paper ensures that the paint won't form hard edges. It's hard to explain in writing. What I'll do is make a short video and I'll demonstrate how to fix it. I'll do that as soon as I can and I'll post it on here. Don't paint over it just yet- wait for the video.

My first painting on this site. It was a challenge using cold press paper instead of hot press. I really enjoyed the challenge on a totally new style of painting for me.
