Hi everyone,

I'm popping in to share some behind the scenes photos of my morning. Our younger son has come home for the weekend. He is a videographer. He works in Sydney at a television studio but he's planning on resigning soon so he can do some freelance work. He's tired of the night shift work that he has to do and he's looking for something a bit more challenging and rewarding.

He's planning to start helping me with my business. He'll begin with 1 week a month and then if that goes well, hopefully he'll be able to move back home and help me full time🤞🏻. Some help for 1 week a month will do for now.

He bought one of his cameras with him this weekend and he's been helping me film the face to camera parts of a video this morning. It's so good to get some professional help! I look forward to all of his creative input.

I've also been working on the voice over of the rooster tutorial. I'll post it here on Patreon when I get it finished. I hope you are having a fabulous weekend.

PS This isn't my new studio. It's the upstairs office where we have our computers.

Louise

So happy for you to have your son to help you!!

Vivian Hays

Hi! I’m trying to find the size of paper specified, (approx 20 x 14) as specified in the rooster supply list, and I can’t find anything on Arches in that size…are you using a roll, or cutting down larger paper? I found sheets at 16 x 20, and pads at 11.7 x 14, which seems a bit tight…do you have any advice on how to proceed, as I wanted to order the appropriate size paper! Thanks so much!

Louise De Masi

Hi Vivian, The full size of the sheet I used was 22 by 30 inches. I cut it in half and stretched it so I lost a little from around the edges after cutting off the gummed tape. Thanks.

Marleen Jamers

Thanks for sharing it with us Louise 😁💝💐

Shelly Solle

Have a wonderful weekend Louise

Joyce Wicks

Marijke de Boer

What a talented son you have and how lovely you can give him some further work experience! Have a lovely weekend

Carol

Is this your new studio? Have you moved into it? Looks lovely. And, I agree with others, how wonderful to work with your son.

Mercedes Sánchez Arauzo

It sounds wonderful to have the possibility to work together with your own son who is also an expert person in the area you need a hand with. Enjoy it

Frances Ross

I would love to see more of my son, enjoy your time together and what an added benefit that he will be helping you out.

Ann Rappaport

Wild thought but it would be possible with a lot of planning. I too would trip and stumble over those long tripod legs. Using tracks and rails which lock the item down, via a ridged pole, can’t the various pieces of filming equipment be suspended from the ceiling? Your studio would have a clear floor. Even better, have the rails allow you to slide each piece away into the equipment closet. The last pic of your son, as a mom, it’s “a keeper”!

Jackie Keiers

Wow! Nice. Is that your new studio? Is is done?

Dionne Conrad

How is the new studio coming? I know it’s great to have some help. Didn’t know it took all that to film…wow! Very handsome boy you have there! Have a great weekend

Lydia Frazier Bosley

Wow, what a professional-looking setup! How nice that your son can help you in such an essential element of your work. It will be nice to be able to document your transition to the new studio, whenever that happens!

This is so wonderful to be able to share some aspects of you work with you son. My son is an artist...so we share a lot of references and techniques. I am near Montreal on the East Coast and he is In Victoria on the West Coast of Canada. It is 5 hour plane flight. But still with Zoom and digital world it is possible to share...Believe me it is so rewarding to share with you child.. To have you son coming 1 week a month will be fabulous and I wish you that he comes home and work full time with you as soon as possible. I very seldom post but I have enjoyed you video and done a few. You inspired me...;you techniques help me in my own paintings. Thank you for sharing this fantastic event.💖👍 BTW what a handsome young man!

Thanks Carol. No this isn't the studio. It's our office upstairs where we have our computers.

Louise De Masi

Thanks Ann. This isn't my finished studio. It's our office upstairs. I'm hoping things will be tidier in the studio.

Louise De Masi

Thanks Jackie. No this isn't the studio. It's our office upstairs where we have our computers.

Louise De Masi

Thanks Dionne. The electrician is coming tomorrow to finish his work so I'll have lights tomorrow! I'm very excited. I'm guessing it will be sometime in July when I move in.

Louise De Masi

Thanks Lydia. I'm hoping it will be in July. Not long now. 💕

Louise De Masi

Thanks very much Liette. It's not easy when they live away but I'm grateful for today's technology too that can help us keep in touch and make the distance between us seem not that far.

Louise De Masi

This is our office upstairs. I hope to move into the studio in July. 💕

Louise De Masi

Thank you Katherine. This is our office. I do all the voice over on the tutorials in this room. Dom works from home three days a week but he's had to move downstairs into the living room because I can't voice over when he's on conference calls. When I move out to the studio he'll be able to come back into this room. He's looking forward to that- me too.

Céli Maria Rondoni

You're always looking great but with your son near, you're glowing 👏 being with the loved ones nowadays is a privilege and we see you know it. Enjoy! Both looking gorgeous and happy.

Teresa Anderson

How exciting! And you will have your new studio soon too! That leaves room for him to move back in if he wants to for a while. :)

What a good looking son you have! And a talented one too.

mybookishlife .

Your son is so handsome. I’m glad the two of you have this time together and I hope he finds his happiness. Keep up the great work. Your videos are so good for my soul.

Valerie

That's great. Your son can help Don too. That should keep him very busy. Wishing you all great success although I think your present videos are pretty great. They seem so professional to me so I am looking forward to seeing how your son's camerawork can improve on that.

Katherine Fox

My son passed away. At the end of the summer it’s be 3yrs, although it feels like yesterday. I pray your son will get to move back home and help you full time. Spending as much time as possible with family cannot be underestimated. It’s an enormous blessing to have your grown children want to be home ❤️💙

Louise De Masi

I'm so sorry you lost your son Katherine. I can only imagine the pain you must feel. Huge hugs. Yes I agree and I treasure my time with them. 😘💕

Katherine Fox

Thank you Louise!! It’s hard, he was my only child, my angel. He was only 11yrs old. Painting is my healing, healthy escape. After trying medication and therapy, both didn’t help, I’m grateful that I let those go and to get lost in drawing and painting 💙❤️

Karen Wilson

Comfort and hugs from California. So sorry that happened. ❣️

Peggy Dwyer

I, too, lost my son fourteen years ago Katherine. He was 27. Sending you all the love and light I can. I agree, therapy didn't help much with me. Meds helped a bit. But painting with Louise gets me out of my head. and into the beauty of color and form.

Louise De Masi

I'm so very sorry Peggy. I don't know how I would go on if I lost a child. Sending you love, light and hugs. 😘
