February 2023 Status Report (Patreon)

Hello everyone. This month has been....horrible. For those of you who haven't read my author's notes on Royal road, allow me to put it simply : I was moving in to the new place I bought. Then my father went fucking crazy and had a fixation on having the attic remade. He ended up winning the debate with my family, somehow, convincing my mother to back him. Which ends up with me having to evacuate my new place for the workers to do their work. So, in summary, I just spent the last few days moving my stuff back to my old place (which I had already spent several days moving in previously), which is worst than ever (I'm writing this while listening to the cacophony of my neighbours), and I spent a giant pile of money for the privilege of being kicked out and having to wait up to two months for my father's fucking ego project. Needless to say I am absolutely livid, and hadn't it been for my girlfriend I most assuredly would have resorted to violence and harm, probably against myself.

So yeah. I'll do my best to keep writing and uploading, but I am in a terrible state so I simply cannot make any guarantees.

Hopefully things will get better...but things have gotten nothing but worst for four months straight now, so I'm not hopeful. At all.

Prob been asked this before but have you tried earplugs or noise cancelling headphones or earbuds while sleeping?

What does he do for 2 month? Remove the old and build a new one? O_o If he wants it that much, he should shell out the money so you can move into a hotel. Because as it sounds to me, he probably means well but is clearly hurting you - and i cant imagine that is what he whants.

A few weeks for the guys to prepare and I have to evacuate everything, and then a month of them doing the actual work. Which might be extended, you know how it is with this bullshit. And what he wants is a fucking ego project.

Hmhm, i see. Well, when i said 'let him shell out money for a hotel', i wasnt saying it on the spur of the moment. Seeing as he really dosnt consider your feelings in this, let him pay up. When i had my home flooded (kind of), insurance payed, but i still had to vacate and empty it. That was in the end for also almost 3 month while the dry machines where doing their work. So i checked the surrounding hotels and holiday apartments if i could get a good price for a 'longer stay'. Got some surprisingly good offers and ended with one that was actually quite cheep. Considering it had food, laundry service and all the other little things, i dint pay much more then just renting and living in an apartment. Heck, even if he pays only part of it, it might still be worth it to vacate the place you currently live in and move into something like that and store your stuff somewhere like your parents. Or let them find it out themselfs where to store it, they have to compromise at some point too.
