This episode tears me up every time I watch it. You are so right that David's whole character --all that we have seen him say and do -- is laid bare here by a skillful therapist and good writing. So many gems are spoken by the therapist. We have been focused on Sky as the cause of David's trauma until we see preschool David and understand that he developed trauma responses at the same time he was learning to read. It is very satisfying to go with David on this journey after watching him struggle so long.
