The title of the episode is the name of the song playing at the end. It also played during the Scott and Kip episode. Sunshine is a big theme in this show. :D

Steph :)

You’re going to the cottage JK!!

Thank you for your service Sarah Shetland

The only weird thing is that the Kip and Scott story takes place in 2017... the same year as this episode, not in 2014 during the Olympics. Like from January to April. I understand having the Skip story in their own episode, and why it happened in episode 3, but I think it would've worked fine with just a 2017 Title Card. I mean, there've been so many time jumps already...

Scott's not retiring, btw.

I've only watched the show and don't want to read the books until after season 2 so I don't know about Scott and Kip's relationship in the books (although I've been told the timeline is different). My take on the relationship is at the end of episode 3 Kip only said he was going home not that they were breaking up. He wasn't officially living with Scott so taking some time and space away from Scott didn't mean things had ended. I'm guessing they had to still be having some sort of relationship as Scott would only have found Kip in the crowd if he had been sitting in his seats and it would have been very presumptuous to think Kip had just been waiting for him for 3 years (Olympics were 2014 and the kiss was 2017).

Please no, not the female Tiktok voice. Nooooooo! These last 2 episodes are insanely great. Once this one gets past the intro, it smacks you with a great scene and then just doesn't let up the whole way. Loved you figuring out quicker, than far too many, that Scott was telling Kip to come down. Some don't even get it with the first wave. Wouldn't it be nice if it wasn't getting into too good to be true territory. It shouldn't matter, obviously, and it would be so amazing if someone could do something like that someday. I didn't read the books until after the show, but only the two the series is based on. Scott and Kip's story line got switched up a bit for the show. In the book the whole thing takes place in 4 or 5 months and ends before it does in the show. They do take a short break, but only a week or two, and then quickly get back together before the kiss. Since it's been 3 years in the show since they started their break, I think the general idea is that they stayed together, but still very much in secret. Obviously a few people know, considering Kip's dad is there in the crowd. Unless Elena got the seats, Scott most likely gave them the tickets so he knew where to look. I figure Kip's friends know but are very good about not telling the world. I don't know that I've heard Jacob or anyone else say for sure what Scott and Kip's official situation is after #3. Just a note - I don't think Alexei knows Ilya is bi or gay. He's throwing around the slur just to be an ass. I mean, Ilya doesn't ever react to it, so I don't think it really means anything. It's obviously totally different when he insults Svetlana. Then it's on. Well, welcome to the cottage, which is one of the first things I remember people saying once I became aware of the show. It's just as good as this one. Different, but just as great.

I think this has been covered, but overall the Skip storyline in the books is short. Jacob said originally he planned for the Skip episode to be number 4, but moved it to 3 for pacing purposes. Kip was not going to graduate school in the book. It is thought the show will go with the idea that Scott and Kip kept the relationship going on the side while Kip did his graduate studies. We'll see for sure in season 2...if they address it.

I loved how you pick up on a lot of details that other commentators don't, like Ilya saying he likes Florida the previous episode and that being why Shane mentioned it at the bar. However, you didn't say anything about Svetlana calling "Jane" a "he" when talking to Ilya in Russia. Svetlana is to Ilya what Rose is to Shane, acknowledging his queerness and letting him know he is accepted and loved.

Thank you for another great reaction video. I very much appreciate that you are such a strong ally to the LGBTQ+ community. It means so much to us--more than you may know. Thank you.

I will just say one thing: this show is based on a romance book series and romance is, by definition and citing the author, fantasy. All of those Happily Ever Afters and such. So don't be surprised that things in the show are a bit idealistic - this is the world we romance lovers prefer to read about 😉

Hi! Love your reaction. I'm glad you wont be reading the books... better to watch without knowing in advance what's going to happen... See ya at the cottage!!! Will be checking out for your reaction of season 2.

I love how you called out fox news at the end 🤣❤️

Absolutely loved this reaction, I was clutching my chest watching you react at that final scene! I just love the double layer of us watching them watch Scott - it’s being happy for Scott and Kip and also thinking about what excitement/bewilderment Shane and Ilya must feel as well. It’s a bit of a rush! You’re right about what big news it would be, with controversy, and l think likely season 2 will deal with some of that but we shall see..!
