The daughter mother part takes a bit to sink in. 😄

Any point in the loop could be "the crux" of the knot. If Martha lives, Adam doesn't become a thing. If Egon isn't accidentally killed, Claudia doesn't teach Jonas. Any event could technically undo everything if given the "incorrect" push. What's interesting about the apocalypse is that they kind of represent it as a singularity. In 1922, Magnus and Franziska activate the Dark Matter gate. In 2020, the barrels that Jonas laced with the Cesium are opened. In 2053, the other Dark Matter gate is activated by Elisabeth. In 2020/1987/1954 the passage opens due to Katarina. All times are simultaneously connected all at once. This is the only point at which we've seen this happen. The instability of such a compression of eras seems like the catalyst that causes the massive black sphere to form that represents the actual "apocalypse." This is why the countdown to the apocalypse was listed in all eras. They're all equally close to that single point in time.
