Look what I got -- the cover of BILL AND TED ARE DOOMED #1 by the great Roger Langridge! This was the variant for the Dark Horse series I wrote and Roger illustrated. I can now add it to my prized FRED THE CLOWN original page I bought from Roger at MOCCA some time ago. Roger asked me if I'd want the cover, and I was nodding "yes yes yes" vigorously while replying. Yes yes yes.

I have been a huge fan of Roger's cartooning and comics since the days of ART D'ECCO and ZOOT (those days beginning in 1990) and while we've appeared in DEADLINE and various anthologies together, this was the first time we ever worked together. I hope we can collaborate again, it was a ton of fun and I loved writing for him. Roger and I both like old-school comedy stuff and Bill and Ted have this comedy team thing going for them, so it was, in my opinion, a most excellent match. We both hope to work on something again someday, if the opportunity ever comes up. We're both cartoonists who kind of run against the tide of the Direct market, almost always scrambling but always around.

Look how clean and sharp and sweet those lines are! The folds and inking on Death are just too good. Roger does most of his comics and illustration work digitally, so tis is extra special to have. Also, I haven't added a piece of art to my collection in years, so this brightened up a bummer of a week, let me tell you.

The Fred the Clown page -- 14 panels, detailed and textured beautifully and all drawn on a small piece of paper, to boot. Around 9" x 12", or thereabouts, iirc.

The B&T cover is typically excellent Langridge but that FRED THE CLOWN page is perfect. Collecting art doesn't remedy all of life's problems, but it helps!

Roger is SO GOOD and underrated. Incredibly nice in person as well. That fella's the whole package!

Roger was kind enough to do a couple commissions for me at Heroes, and tolerate my gushing about how Snarked! is an all time funny book. Top shelf as far as I'm concerned.

Evan Dorkin

I still haven't read Snarked, need to fix that. Roger is definitely one of the best throwing the ink around. Or pixels.

Andrew Farago

Most excellent! I've gotten a few pages from Roger over the years, and we've got a page from your Bill & Ted series (Marie Severin inks!) hanging up at home. It was really fun watching you and Roger team up on that one.

Evan Dorkin

I only have two Bill and Ted pages left, one inked by Marie and the one inked by David Mazzucchelli. I sold too many of them cheap back in the day, I wish I had kept a DeStefano-inked page at the very least.

I've never heard of Fred The Clown, but it looks AMAZING. One of these days you'll have to post some massive list of reading reccomendations because I check out almost everything you post about

Evan Dorkin

When/if I get the video stuff going one of the things I'd like to do is just show off a book and talk about it, because writing and scanning takes forever, and I'd like to recommend some books and creators here.

Gavin Sheedy

I read his Patreon for today right before this. It is, of course, really good.

Rosa

Well, color me envious! That is, indeed, something to treasure. And you can count me among those hoping for another collaboration!

Evan Dorkin

I would like to join Roger's Patreon someday, sooner rather than later. Thanks for supporting cartoonists.
