I'm so glad the Marlboro Unlimited tape was a hit even if I couldn't be there that night to watch live. I'm kind of an engineering failures freak so I care a lot about that particular train. Idk if you'll see this comment but something I forgot to put in the letter was that in order to ride the Marlboro Unlimited you had to enter a sweepstakes event held by Philip Morris. Supposedly (and I say this because I can't find my original source on this info) to enter these sweepstakes you had to provide proof of buying 1000 Marlboro cigs. This is frankly fucking insane to me and I cannot imagine what it must have smelled like on that train given it was exclusive to only the heaviest of smokers. Anyways, I actually have a piece of merch from the promotional era of the Unlimited in the form of a Marlboro-branded sleeping bag. It's actually really high quality and surprisingly doesn't smell like cigs at all.
