The first wave of info about Nightreign was a rollercoaster of emotions. "Co-op battle-royale bossrush"? Such a cursed way to describe a soulslike. But then later interview revealed it's a fanservice spin-off with roguelike- and dungeon crawler -elements, like Chalice Dungeons in Bloodborne. Personally the favourite reveal was singleplaying being doable. Elden Ring was a successful experiment of something new and so it seems Nightreign could be too. As a fellow slave to this studio, I too am stoked yet still hoping this could be 2025 GOTY nominee-quality.

I completely agree. I have a feeling that if you like elden ring/souls you will still find something to enjoy in this new game. Honestly despite it being an obvious new direction, things look familiar enough that I feel it'll still be great. I am reasonably excited and keeping my eye on the development. The fact that you get to play a cute anthro birb only adds to my optimism of course ;)
