Hello computer friends! I've made another ink animation! This time, rather than draw a completed frame and then moving on to the next one, I animated a character one body part at a time. I animated an eye moving around, and then when I got to the last frame I went back to the first one to add the next body part, and repeated the process 9 times, building a character out of moving bits. I documented it as I went, so you can see the animation come together! The completed frames at the end are the ink drawings I'll be sending to my Pen Pal patrons from last month, and will be shipped in the next day or two!For those who don't know, these ink animations/drawings are made on the side as gifts for patrons, HOWEVER I'm still working full time on an animated film which is going well- and with any luck should be finished later this year!

incredible. do you see the finished product you’re working towards as you go or do you see where the movement takes you?

I had it in my head that it would be some sort of character walking, but otherwise there were no references or guides for me to follow. I think with the first couple of passes I was making it intentionally nonsensical movements, and then the challenge with each new addition was fitting it around whatever was already there.

That is an intriguing art style; I use a similar method for worldbuilding when I'm trying to make places for my D&D players to go - make one thing I need and then take passes at it until it's a place (probably a weird one) for them to end up. Either way, looking forward to your next whateveryamake, every one of them has been interesting and visually appealing~!

Thankyou! This is teaching and awe inspiring

"Sorry, because of privacy settings, this video cannot be played here." That's weird. It says it's unlocked.
