OH BOY have we been cooking with this one
Networking
You can now connect to our servers and send and receive bibites across the internet!
Just head to the network settings in your trusty dynamic settings panel, and enable it to start a probably irreversible process of getting your simulation swarmed by bibites far more evolved than yours!Bibites will be sent when they venture out of the void and disappear out of the shade (can also be triggered by YEETING your beloved bibites out of the shade, probably causing a lot of confusion to the user who'll receive your bibite at MACH7)
We know the void shade can seem like a far ways away from all the action. So we have added settings to control how far from the center it starts. Now the edge of the unexplored can be in the bibite's backyard.
Your bibites are signed, so we can know where they came from and who is misbehaving in cases of trolling
However, don't worry, we don't track you or anything; it's hashed from your machine address, so it doesn't reveal anything about you, but still is a unique identifier.
Disclaimer: The Networking features are still in a very early testing phase, and we have decided to fully support this financially for now. But the goal is to figure out if we could support this for a wider release without it being a major cash drain. While we are testing, you can expect the rate at which you can send and receive bibites to be rate limited ( currently 5 second cool down). If on cooldown and your bibite reaches the shade, it will just wrap around like normal.
Ah, and yes also, in order to be able to do more specific things in the future, your Sims are now ordered by folder
Saves Organization
In the same manner, autosaves are now tracked per-sim! So you no longer have to fear overwriting a sim's important history just by running a different sim!All your existing savefiles and autosaves will be marked as "Floating" and you should then now be able to open them as a new sim, and name a new folder for them.
In general, this should allow you to better organize your simulations and your saves across folders, as well as improve loading times when opening the load/save panel
