🌙 Big update coming, plus some honesty about pacing
Hey everyone! Lots has been happening lately, so wanted to give you a proper update.
I've been working on the animation for the Glory Den, alongside a bunch of smaller improvements throughout the game. One thing I'm especially happy about: the Gallery now shows all Scenes with a blur + lock overlay on the ones you haven't unlocked yet, so you can actually see how many Scenes exist in total and track your progress. A lot of you told me it was confusing before, so hopefully this clears things up!
Now for some honesty: I think I overshot how much content I could realistically deliver this cycle. The programming side was never really the bottleneck, it's the Assets. Good art just takes time if I want to keep the quality and style consistent.
So here's the plan: this month's update will still be a big one. Going forward, I'll keep doing monthly updates with a solid amount of new Scenes each time, but I want to be more realistic about the pace so I don't burn out or sacrifice quality.
One more scheduling note: I recently learned from an itch.io admin that Major updates need at least 30 days between them to stay eligible for "Most Recent" — so going forward I'll be spacing updates out to about 35-40 days, just to play it safe and stay visible for new players.
I'm also looking into hiring an artist to help speed up Asset creation. The tricky part is finding someone who really matches my art style and the passion I put into this project, on top of the financial side of things. If the Patreon keeps growing, that's exactly what it'll help make possible, meaning more content per update down the line.
And as always — Patreon supporters get early access (up to 2 weeks before the public release depending on tier), plus some Patreon-exclusive extras along the way.
Thank you so much to everyone supporting this project, whether through Patreon, playing the game, or just cheering me on. It genuinely means a lot!
