At your typical pace of one episode per week, it'll take you nearly 20 years to get to where the show currently is. What's the game plan here?

Two a week at the moment. I appreciate at nearly 1000 episodes, one a week is not ideal.

Oh man, One piece is one of those shows that has stayed consitantly good for decades now, so I'm super excited for it. I will say though that in typical long running shounen fasion, there are filler arcs that although can be good, don't really add anything to the story simply because it is filler, so if you're interested in skimming a chunck off of that big 1K episode count, I'd reccommend to watch it with a filler guide should you choose to skip them. (The exception here of course is the G5 arc. It is very much worth watching.)
