Her sneezing turned into a torrent of multicolored fireworks, and her laughter began to sound like a broken car horn. She was experiencing the first symptom of the Mask's weakness: erratic and uncontrollable powers.

"Jessica, are you okay?" a concerned friend asked, noticing her unusual behavior.

Jessica nodded, but inside, she was panicking. She remembered reading about the mask's weakness in an old legend. If someone wore the mask while having a cold, the mask's powers would malfunction, leading to seven deadly symptoms.

The second symptom hit her like a truck: her skin started changing colors, cycling through an array of hues like a disco ball. She rushed to a secluded corner of the venue, her mind racing. She knew she had to remove the mask before the symptoms escalated, but it was stuck fast to her face.

The third symptom: her voice turned into a high-pitched squeak, making her sound like a cartoon character. She frantically searched her phone for a solution and remembered the cure – special termites found only in Bavaria.

"How am I supposed to get to Bavaria now?" she squeaked, her eyes widening with terror.

The fourth symptom came swiftly: her limbs grew uncontrollably long and rubbery, causing her to knock over decorations and tables. She had to think fast. She needed to get the termites, or at least stop the symptoms from progressing.

The fifth symptom was worse: her vision blurred, and everything around her started spinning. Jessica knew she was running out of time. She stumbled outside, her friends gasping at her bizarre appearance.

"Get me out of here!" she managed to squeak.

Her friends tried to help, but the sixth symptom hit: uncontrollable laughter that turned into painful coughing fits. Jessica's breathing became labored. She knew she couldn't make it to Bavaria. Desperation set in as the seventh and final symptom loomed: the mask would consume her entirely.

Suddenly, her friend Sarah had an idea. "Wait, the legend said something about waiting it out! If you take off the mask before all the symptoms complete, you'll be safe!"

With what little strength she had left, Jessica tugged at the mask. She struggled, her surroundings blurring into a haze of green and neon lights. In a final burst of willpower, she managed to rip the mask off her face. A burst of green energy exploded around her as the mask flew off, and she gasped for air, collapsing to the ground.

Her friends rushed to her side, worried but relieved. "Jess, are you okay?"

She nodded weakly, her normal voice returning. "Yeah, I think so. That was... intense."

They helped her up and guided her back inside, making sure she was comfortable. As Jessica lay in bed later that night, recovering from the ordeal, she realized just how close she had come to a bizarre and untimely end.
