Hey Patrons,

I'm very excited to finally publish our first of ten Noclip Sessions that we recorded at GDC earlier this year. For this episode we talked to Theresa Duringer about her work developing games in virtual reality. Not to mention how VR is helping her ignore her fear of flying.

Expect more of these every week we don't put up a major doc. Between you and me, Hugo and Marty from id Software are up next.

Let me know what you think!

Danny

Unraveling VR's Potential (Theresa Duringer) - Noclip Sessions

The jury is still out on the long-term success of virtual reality, but we wanted to know what it was like for developers creating games in the fledgling space. We invited indie turned VR developer Theresa Duringer to tell us about designing games in VR, the interesting obstacles she's run into, and how virtual reality may help those who are scared of flying. Noclip is 100% funded by our viewers. @Danny Don't you ever reply to your patrons? I've been asking the same question for a while now and even messaged your facebook page. I wanted to ask you what advertising service you use for your patreon page to promote it. I also have a patreon page for the audio dramas I have been creating and it doesn't get enough eyes. Please if you could tell me what services you use to advertise, I really need help! I can never hit my goal and have to struggle to find supporters. My audio dramas are top notch as well, I just need help getting the word out. Please Danny any advice would be much appreciated!

I do! All the time (though not over Facebook). Apologies, I had thought somebody had answered this for you. I don't use any advertising service. I worked on a major games website for a number of years which helped get my name out there at the beginning. That established a firm foundation, and our Patreon has slowly, but steadily grown ever since. Advertising is a money pit. I would imagine that the best way to get supporters to your channel is by reaching out to other Fallout fan communities. Or perhaps even Fallout / Bethesda themselves for a little promotional bump. Your Patreon is very niche in that respect, so I'd try and reach people who share your passion that way. My 2 cents anyway.

Matt Matlock

Loved it. Can't wait for the FFXIV documentary!!

Old World Radio

@Danny I've been trying to get my name out there with Fallout facebook groups, twitter, and even with my youtube on nexusmods. I spend about 40 to 50+ hours a week on these audio dramas so it's hard to promote sometimes. Give my stuff a listen! I guarantee even if you aren't a fan of Fallout you will enjoy my audio dramas and content!

Old World Radio

@Stefan Yeah I will give those a look-see then. Thanks! I just hope one day I can get where I need to get to keep creating audio dramas and live comfortably. It's been a struggle.

Old World Radio

People keep telling me I make better radio and audio dramas than Bethesda themselves which is awesome, but I want to know what you think. I don't know if you would want to interview myself for what I am doing, but I was featured on Kotaku and PC Gamer already for the mod. Give a listen and let me know what you think... <a href="https://www.youtube.com/c/oldworldradioboston" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/c/oldworldradioboston</a>

An interesting conversation with someone interesting about interesting stuff. Enjoyed it - thanks! I like the music too but... do we need it throughout?

Michael Josephs

Loved this first NoClip Sessions! The snacksize length was perfect and the interviewee was very interesting and well spoken, top stuff Danny - keep up the great work.

Liam Harvey

Awesome work Danny. Perfect size, hope it's not been too much of an extra struggle for your workload ❤️

Good question. I did loop the hell out of it. I'll see about being a bit easier on the next one.

Amir Rangnekar

Just wondering, are you planning on releasing "extended cuts" of these interviews like you did with some of the docs? That'd be awesome! Otherwise this is perfect as it is!

Alex Murphy

Who did the music on this clip? it was excellent.

Kalle Färm

I'll second Dom's suggestion. I loved the interview but found the music levels a bit distracting. At several points I lost my focus on the conversation because the music caught my attention too much. I would suggest either fading it out after a while or at least toning it down in the mix. Otherwise, the video was great as always. Thanks Danny!

Dom Greves

Intrusive background music can be an Accessibility issue for the hard-of-hearing. Something to think about.

Is that hoodie for sale anywhere? Great Hoodie. Also, chill video!

Piotr Kostecki

This video was so interesting! I love Noclip Sessions .

Great interview. She seems like a great person overall, very focused, and really loves her work. Kudos to her and folks like her that venture out on a limb to be independent. Ill be looking out for her games... never ran into them but they looked fun
