Hello Patrons,

I AM IN AMSTERDAM! 

We finished 2016 with a look into how id Software pulled off the incredible DOOM, so we figured we should do the same with an equally impressive feat - how Guerrilla Games went from a decade of linear FPS development to create one of the best open world games of recent years; Horizon Zero Dawn.

Our Horizon project will be live in December (after our PlayerUnknown Profile and GTA Online video landing in the coming weeks) and will feature insight from most of the studio leads about scaling-up the studio, how they came up with the concept for Horizon and how that world was realized. 

HORIZON IS SUCH A GREAT GAME. WE'RE GONNA MAKE A RAD THING ABOUT IT!

But onto more pressing things...

AMSTERDAM MEETUP!

We are going to have a meet-up on Thursday evening. Let's meet at 7PM at Marie Heinekenplein in De Pipj. We'll find a bar that will accommodate us around there - there are loads of options. I'll make a new post on the day and add updates as to where we are for anyone who's turning up later. We have to film the next say so I can't say it'll be a super late night, but we can't wait to hang out with all of you so COME ALONG!

Alright, that's all I got time to post for right now - we've got a lot of work to do before tomorrow's shoot. I was in Iceland for around 20 minutes in between planes too which was cool. Jeremy is currently in Dublin awaiting his connection from SF. It's been a weird day!

What what!!! This is a great game to lose the year off. Especially considering the story behind the studio. Looking forward to hearing how they came up with s concept. I loved Odyssey to the West design, so you can imagine how I get when this game was announced

Been to Amsterdam a couple of times for the football (to watch Scotland get thumped). If you have a spare 45 minutes or so check out the Heineken Experience tour in that area. Looking forward to the doc. Still playing my way through Horizon, cracking game.

Ah yes, Horizon. Another one of those games that made me briefly consider buying a ps4. If the anxiety doesn't destroy me, I might just allow myself to consider the option of considering joining the meetup. ;-P It's not too far from where I live.

Yes! I'm loving this, one of the best if not the best game I played on the PS4 and I think the basis for the telling of a really interesting story considering the developers background and switch to take on new IP and a completely new type of game. In today's risk averse industry with publishers demanding sequel after sequel of multiplayer/games as a service BS it's refreshing to see such risks being taken (and most importantly paying off for them, hopefully it inspires others and your doc will only help with that message)!

Sweet, I really liked Horizon even though at some points its open world draws comparisons with games like The Witcher 3 and nothing can compare to TW3, so in the end I didn't enjoy it as much as I'd hoped, but it's certainly a great game.
