Hey Patrons,

How about a documentary for your weekend? We close out a busy November with Esteban's fascinating profile of  Victor "Spooky" Fontañez  and the early days of video game livestreaming. I couldn't be happier with the documentary that Esteban crafted and am really excited to add it to the Noclip library of stories.

Enjoy the show, and let us know what you think!

Amazing work! I know absolutely nothing about fighting games, and this was a super fascinating story to get to know. Really cool.

Danger

As a long time member of the FGC - this was BEAUTIFUL. Thank you for showing spooby some love!

Richard Pilgrim

I know barely anything about fighting games and I really enjoyed watching this documentary. Great Work!

Thanks so much that's really nice to hear.

Appreciate it Marcel. Thank you.

I'll pass the word along to Esteban. Though he's probably lurking in here too :) Thanks so much

This was so good I don't know what to do after watching it. I ended up here just to make sure I'm pledged. I set a google reminder for EVO in my phone. I don't even play fighting games.

Christopher Kelly

This was fantastic. I don't even know Spooky and just seeing this journey end with a massive crowd screaming the catchphrase from the video got me a bit emotional haha. Really great doc from NoClip!

Steve Fiori

Awesome work Esteban! I like fighting games and in terms of the FGC only watch stuff on YouTube randomly, but this was a great and fascinating look into Spooky and his ambition and efforts for the community :)

Tohir Tillyaev

Esteban did a great job! “Create an awesome Noclip doc” achievement is unlocked. As for the documentary itself - I never knew how tight the fighting streaming community is. Loved that story and loved Spooky’s approach to it. I think I might have to swing through NYC one of these days and join the event in person. 40min drive is nothing for the cause!

Hold Back To Block

Hi! Traveling back from the Tekken World Finals today, but wanted to take a quick moment to thank you all for the wonderful comments. There were a lot of firsts for me with this project, so I'm happy that you dig the piece and hope to do many more in the future. Thanks again, and look forward to Danny's Half-Life doc coming soon. Looking like a good one!
