Hey folks!

2018 is almost come to a close and what a year it's been for Noclip.

I'm putting together the final Patron Show of the year and wanted to make sure I answered your questions again before we close out the year. So if you have any comments, questions, concerns or insight into what we've done in 2018 - be it our docs on Warframe, Bethesda, Fallout 76, GOG, Dream Daddy, Fallout Shelter, Spooky, Half-Life, Hades or the many other random things we did this year, please stick them in the comments.

Looking forward to reading them!

Danny

How did you build an entirely remote company, and what challenges or benefits come from everyone being remote?

Andrew McMillan

What other Developer style docs do you have planned for next year? Been talking to any other studios?

Ethan

How do you handle the moment when you've made a documentary about a game before its release, and when released it's disappointing? (I'm talking about Fallout 76, unless it was unclear, which I doubt but ya know.)

R.J. Nye

How has the viewership of your videos affected your work? I'm curious what trends you've noticed about your videos and how that's affected newer projects. Thanks!

Tory Thompson

A bit more lighthearted. I was recently rewatching your old series GTA Diaries (with Seb Ford) and noticed how much more pronounced your accent was. Do you ever actively try to maintain some of the accent? Or is it something you just don’t think about? You’re docs are amazing, keep it up. Shout out to Jeremy for being fantastic as well!

Matthew Glenn

What creators and channels have you started following in 2018?

Charalampos Koundourakis

You've talked before how you don't want your documentaries while a project is ongoing to act as marketing material but they invariably will bring more eyes (and wallets) on the game. How would you respond to people accusing you of being biased towards portraying the dvelopers in a kinder than deserved light? Also, love the show :)

Piotr Zielinski

Do you consider partnership with other youtube channels? In Poland we have arhn.ue that made couple good piecies including 2h documentary on first wither game attept (the one that was never made) you can watch it here with subs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g18GgD-SNzM. Im preaty sure them or other channels like them would be intrested in doing another big project with help of some one who also have contacts in industry.

Marc Scott-West

Is there a planned schedule of episodes for the Supergiant/Hades series, or is it a case of checking back in with them when both sides agree there's something significant to cover? Also how did this come together with the lovely Supergiant folks? Did you approach them/they approach you? I'm sure i'm not alone in feeling you've really already shown what more you can achieve with extra funding and again sure i'm not alone in hoping I can find a way to provide more support when able. Keep the goodness coming sir! Cheers.

Alan Cook

Have you ever had any push back from a developer when looking for access? Not so much like the obstacles you faced with Valve, but more like in the documentary about Bethesda. You mentioned the bad blood they have with Kotaku. They seemed fairly open about discussing it, but has a developer ever tried to censor what you planned on putting out to the public? If so, how did you handle it?

Landon Robinson

How are the podcasts coming along? Really excited to hear the Giant Bomb anniversary one! Cheers.

Josh Squires

What's it been like working on docs with collaborators? Specifically, in the case of the new Hades project, is it weird editing footage that you weren't on scene for at all?

Jazz Jackrabbit

What's going on with the Noclip Facebook page? The post about the Half-Life doc was the first one since June.

Brandon K Gann

Hey Danny! Loved the style of the episode of Hades and I'm looking forward to the coming year following it. Now that we're at the end 2018, I wanted to ask a couple of questions about the year overall: 1.) What is the one project this year you're happiest with, both in terms of how it came out and getting to do the topic? 2.) Current GOTY? Thanks for taking my questions if you do and I want to wish you and yours AND the Noclip team a very Happy Holidays! Have a great day!

Gabriel Costa (Hired Sword)

Any chance we can get another community related doc similar to the Team Spooky one? Something related to the Smash community and how it was and where it's headed now that Smash Ultimate is out and bringing back some of the big names as well as newcomers. Great work on all the projects so far, I've enjoyed them all and am glad to help further this year.

Christopher Metzger

Hi Danny, I was curious how you arrived at the episodic series format of the Hades doc. Was this something that you always had in mind (and that we might expect to see more of) with the Imbedded Docs funding goal? Or is the format of this piece more project-specific, shaped by discussion with Supergiant Games? And of course thanks as always for your amazing work!

dmaurath

What resources (e.g. blogs, tutorials, videos) would you recommend to someone looking to get started in documentary filmmaking? What are some of the best tools for planning shoots? Any other advice for a new documentary filmmaker with some experience editing and a lot of experience in photography?

Bavo Debraekeleer

Hey Danny, I was just wondering if you're planing to do some streaming again in the new year? Your editing work is top notch and you make amazing docs, but I miss the raw you, you know, like in the ye olden days. No prob if you don't really have time for that anymore with the baby and all. Family is the most important thing! ;) Happy Holidays!

YetAnotherUser

Don't have a question, really. Just wanted to wish all you guys a merry Christmas :)

Shell Comics

Any plans on coming to India to do a doc? There is a surprisingly large gaming community over here and there is bound to be a good story here too! Loved the docs this year. Looking forward to Year 3 of Noclip :)

Thamer Alghamdi

Hi Danny! Hope you are having a great holidays with your family after another great and sucssful year. One question, will the podcast ever be back?

/noclip

And the same to you, thanks so much!

Magnus Tegnvallius

Hi Danny, do you have or are you thinking about finding alternatives to support you and Noclip other than Patreon?

David Buhler

I was hoping to hear from the team; what has been the best, or most memorable, moment you've had working on Noclip? And want to extend a happy holidays to Danny & the team!
