EARLY ACCESS YOUTUBE LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbLDE2TQfw0

Hey Early Access Patrons!

The Astroneer doc is nearing completion, but we also have our latest Production Class video dropping next week so here is your early peek. Shout-out to Jeremy Jayne for producing this one. Jeremy does the color grading for most of our work. He takes the footage he shot, grades it over a few days and sends me a Premiere file with all the changes.

These production tutorials have been popular with a sub-set of our community, and we think they're really important if we want to demystify the process and encourage more people to do this work. We're going to record a few more this year on elements that more people may find interesting; stuff like interviewing tips, and how to communicate with PR. Open to suggestions too!

Hope you're having a great weekend.  More early access stuff coming next week.

Enjoy the tutorial!

Danny

Emergent Beacon

It's so funny watching these and seeing where both methods and intents either line up or veer from my own. There are so many ways to approach the same task that we all kind of find our own way there, and color is such a vast and complicated subject that I find it especially gets some creative techniques. I do everything in Resolve and export a LUT that I apply to my footage, which has its own advantages and disadvantages. I also use color charts pretty often, which I like having the reference, but it too can lead to mixed results if overly relied upon. Anyway, always nice to see a different workflow!
