Happy New Year and welcome to Noclip 2.0

After a year worth of planning, we are finally ready to launch our new vision for Noclip. More docs, more often, with more variety and creative storytelling. The first doc to be filmed and produced while in our new studio is this look into the development of Outer Wilds. A game that has been growing in notoriety all year and even swept up Game of the Year awards from several major publications. In this documentary, we explain the origins of this exceptional game and the various design challenges the team had to overcome to create this wondrous solar system.

Over the coming weeks, we will be rebranding our Patreon and telling you all about our improved tier rewards. But for now, sit back, buckle up, and enjoy the ride.

Happy New Year! Do you recommend playing the game before watching the doc?

/noclip

There's a point in the doc where we tell people who haven't played it to stop watching, so you're good until then :)

Happy New Year Danny and Jeremy! Congrats on the new digs! Downloading The Outer Wilds as we speak!

I liked that the direction of this one tied in so closely with the game meta mechanism. Very much an unexpected "I understood that reference!" that blurred the fourth wall a bit from standard game journalism techniques.

This was definitely one of my favorite Noclip docs so far (for one of my favorite games of the last decade). Really liked that you let the programmers talk about some of the more technical challenges of getting the simulation to work, I feel like this is a part that is often ignored in videogame documentaries.

Timmy Allen

A really incredible doc everyone. Getting a deeper dive into my favorite game of last year was super fun. Can't wait for more!

Kelsam

Excellent start to the new year! ETA for the mentioned "Bonus Scenes"?

Khetix

It's so clear just how passionately this doc was crafted. I loved it, excellent work!!

This week! Part of our new tiers, expect an update tomorrow!

Okay, I'll be honest. I didn't stop watching when you told me to, but now I very much want to play this game. Great work as always, guys!
